The patronal festival of Trovo, between faith and village celebration
The Our Lady of Sorrows Festival is the patronal festival of Trovo, a municipality in the province of Pavia. It is held on the third Sunday of September and is the main event of the year for the village community.
The festival combines the religious dimension - rites in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows - with the popular one: dancing evenings, entertainment moments, and the traditional fireworks that close the celebrations. It is a genuine village festival, capable of engaging all generations.
The civil events, and in particular the dancing evenings, are managed by the Pro Loco of Trovo, which every year enlivens the patronal anniversary together with the community and the parish.
In 2026, the patronal festival of Trovo falls around the third Sunday of September. The rites in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows are accompanied by the Pro Loco's dancing evenings and fireworks; the detailed program will be announced closer to the anniversary.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be communicated by the Pro Loco and the parish of Trovo. The patronal festival traditionally includes religious rites in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows, dancing evenings organized by the Pro Loco, and fireworks to close the celebrations.
