About Christmas in Collepardo

Every year, from late November through Epiphany, Collepardoโ€”a charming village in the Monti Ernici mountains near Frosinoneโ€”comes alive with its Christmas Cultural Season. Classical and sacred music concerts, choirs, the local town band, theatrical performances, book presentations, and traditional folk events fill the Municipal Auditorium, the "La Rocca" Council Chamber, and the Church of SS. Salvatore. A widespread, free-admission program that keeps the village festive until January 4th.

The Cultural Christmas of Collepardo

In the heart of the Monti Ernici, at an altitude of over 580 meters and just a short distance from Alatri and Frosinone, the village of Collepardo celebrates the holidays with an extensive Christmas Cultural Season. Promoted by the Municipality of Collepardo in the province of Frosinone (Lazio), the festival transforms the town's squares and halls into vibrant spaces for music, theatre, and community gathering for over a month.

A widespread program across churches, auditoriums, and historic halls

Events take place in several venues throughout the historic center: the Municipal Auditorium Gymnasium, the hub for concerts and plays; the "La Rocca" Council Chamber, which hosts book launches and meetings; and the evocative Church of SS. Salvatore, the setting for Christmas carol concerts. Some events also reach the hamlet of Civita di Collepardo, where tradition blends with the Tartalicchio Festival.

Music, theatre, and tradition

The program features a diverse range of genres: classical and chamber music concerts with piano and clarinet, polyphonic choirs, the town band, theatrical performances by local companies, and literary presentations. There are also moments dedicated to the community, such as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which opens the season, and events designed for children, featuring local school students on stage.

  • Classical, sacred, and chamber music concerts
  • Polyphonic choirs and the Collepardo Band
  • Theatrical performances by local associations
  • Book presentations in the "La Rocca" Council Chamber
  • Traditional folk events in Civita di Collepardo

A village to discover

The Christmas Cultural Season is also the perfect opportunity to visit one of the most fascinating villages in the Ciociaria region, known as the "village of herbs" and famous for the Collepardo Caves (also called "dei Bambocci"), the Pozzo d'Antullo sinkhole, and the nearby Certosa di Trisulti monastery. Realized thanks to the contribution of the Lazio Regional Council and the collaboration of the Pro Loco and local associations, the festival offers free admission until all seats are filled.

Christmas in Collepardo โ€” edition 2026

The 2025/2026 edition of the Collepardo Christmas Cultural Season took place from November 25, 2025, to January 4, 2026, featuring a packed calendar of concerts, theatrical performances, and book presentations. Classical and sacred music, polyphonic choirs, the town band, and local theatre companies performed across the Municipal Auditorium, the "La Rocca" Council Chamber, and the Church of SS. Salvatore, with an event also hosted in Civita di Collepardo.

Promoted by the Municipality of Collepardo with the contribution of the Lazio Regional Council, the 2025/2026 edition offered over ten free events dedicated to music, theatre, and culture. The program opened on November 25 with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and concluded on January 4 with a chamber music concert by the Duo Allegro Amabile.

Among the most anticipated moments were the Christmas concerts in the Church of SS. Salvatore with the Hernica Saxa Choir and the Collepardo Band, theatrical performances at the Municipal Auditorium, and the traditional Tartalicchio festival in Civita di Collepardo.
