A journey through Spain, Latin America, and France for three guitars in the church of Soglio
In the village of Soglio, located in the Province of Asti in the heart of Piedmont, the historic church of Santi Pietro e Giorgio in Piazza Corsico transforms into a concert hall for one night. The star of the show is the Trio Sona, a classical guitar ensemble bringing a refined and accessible program to Soglio, designed to bridge the great European guitar tradition with the warm sounds of Iberian and Latin American music.
Active since 1995, the Trio Sona consists of guitarists Franco Cavallone, Massimo Iamone, and Rodolfo Mezzino. Over the years, the group has built an original repertoire for three guitars spanning the last two centuries, combining original compositions with numerous transcriptions. With a strong focus on promoting contemporary music, the Trio has had works written specifically for them by prominent composers and maintains an active international concert schedule.
