The TTS Food tour brings street food to the seafront of this Lazio port city
The Civitavecchia Street Food festival, a stop on the TTS Food tour, turns Viale Giuseppe Garibaldi into a grand gastronomic village overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. In the heart of Lazio's primary port city, within the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, the seafront becomes an elegant open-air restaurant for four nights, where residents, tourists, and travelers heading to the ferries can stroll amidst aromas, lights, and music. The event is designed for all ages, with large areas equipped with tables and seating to enjoy dishes comfortably by the sea.
The format brings a hand-picked brigade of twenty Street Chefs to the promenade with their food trucks and kitchen stands, creating a spectacle of taste and creativity that blends the best of Italian tradition with international cuisines:
Accompanying the dishes are raw craft beer from Landshuter Brauhaus and a cocktail bar by Drink Lab, in collaboration with Campari Group, featuring Spritz and signature long drinks. The promenade is adorned with light displays and music, creating a relaxed and convivial atmosphere that lasts until late at night. Special attention is paid to sustainability, with water served in recyclable Tetra Pak cartons to reduce plastic use.
Civitavecchia Street Food offers free admission: you only pay for what you choose to eat. The evenings run from late afternoon into the early night, the ideal time for a walk along the seafront, an aperitif at sunset, and an informal dinner in the open air. The food truck festival format has won over a loyal audience that looks forward to the return of the TTS Food tour to the city every year.
Overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and dominated by Forte Michelangelo, Civitavecchia is the most important port in Lazio and one of the main gateways to Rome from the sea. Its promenade, the heart of city life, provides the perfect backdrop for a gastronomic event that combines tradition, conviviality, and international flair. Civitavecchia Street Food is a wonderful opportunity to discover the city in a festive mood, amidst the scent of the sea and the flavors of the best street food.
The second edition of Civitavecchia Street Food took place from Thursday, June 25 to Sunday, June 28, 2026, along Viale Giuseppe Garibaldi on the city's seafront. Following the success of the first edition in 2024, the TTS Food tour returned to the city with a brigade of twenty Street Chefs, food trucks, and kitchen stands, transforming the promenade into an elegant restaurant under the stars.
The public was able to choose between Italian regional specialties and international cuisines, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, accompanied by raw craft beer and cocktails from the Drink Lab area.
