About Christmas Markets
Christmas Begins in the Square
The Christmas Markets of Fonzaso officially open the festivities in the village of the province of Belluno. The event takes place on December 8th, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, when Piazza I Novembre is filled with stalls offering artisan products, gift ideas, and gastronomic specialties, in an atmosphere of lights and scents typical of mountain holidays.
Tree Lighting and Children's Songs
The most anticipated moment is the lighting of the Christmas tree, accompanied by the distribution of panettone for everyone. In the afternoon, children from nursery and primary schools, guided by teachers and the music teacher, liven up the square with Christmas carols, an event that involves the entire community.
The Concert in Church
The day concludes with the traditional Christmas concert in the parish church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Organized by the Pro Loco di Fonzaso APS, the festival is an opportunity to experience the town center and breathe in the authentic Christmas atmosphere of Valbelluna.
Christmas Markets — edition 2026
For December 8, 2026, the Pro Loco of Fonzaso will again host the Christmas Markets in Piazza I Novembre. Based on previous editions, the day will feature stalls of crafts and local products, the lighting of the tree with panettone distribution, Christmas carols by schoolchildren, and the evening concert in the parish church.

How to get there
Fonzaso is located in the province of Belluno, along the SS47 of Valsugana, near Feltre. By car from the A31 motorway or the SS47; the nearest train station is Feltre, connected by bus to Fonzaso.
Admission
The markets and events in the square are free and open to all. The concert in the church is free admission.
