The village in the Parma Apennines is dressed in Christmas magic on the Immaculate Conception weekend
The Bore Christmas Market is one of the most evocative winter events in the Parma Apennines. It takes place in the small municipality of Bore, in the province of Parma (Emilia-Romagna), a village of just over seven hundred inhabitants nestled at 832 meters above sea level in the middle Ceno valley, along the ancient Via di Genova that connected the Po Valley to Liguria.
Established in December 2019, the market is now a fixed tradition in the village's calendar and falls on the Immaculate Conception weekend, when the historic center transforms into a small Christmas village. The stalls wind along Via Roma and the main streets, animating the village from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
The offerings are typical of village Christmas markets, with a particular focus on handmade items and local products. Among the stands, you can find:
The intimate size of the village is the event's strong point: no crowds, no chaos, but the authentic atmosphere of a mountain village gathering around its traditions during the most magical time of the year.
A visit to the market is also an opportunity to discover Bore and its territory. The village is known for the Ophiolitic Fortress with the Church of San Maurizio Martire, for the Bosco Paradiso (Paradise Forest), and for the views of Monte Carameto. The town also boasts a dense network of ancient medieval "Ville" (villages), such as the famous Villa Conti in Pozzolo, considered one of the most beautiful villages in the Parma Apennines. Its gastronomic tradition revolves around chestnuts, which are also the stars of the renowned Autumn Chestnut Festival.
The Bore Christmas Market thus represents much more than a simple Christmas fair: it is an invitation to experience Christmas in a slow and genuine way, immersed in the peace and colors of the Emilian Apennines.
The Bore Christmas Market returns for its 2026 edition on Sunday, December 6, confirming the traditional event of the Immaculate Conception weekend. The village in the Parma Apennines comes alive from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM with stalls along Via Roma and the streets of the center.
