The festival of cherries and Romagna flavors in the heart of Villaggio Argentina
In the heart of Villaggio Argentina, a residential district of Misano Adriatico in the Province of Rimini, one of the most heartfelt festivals of the Romagna Riviera returns every June: the Cherry Festival. Born in 1980 and now in its 38th edition, the event enlivens the green Parco Alberello, along Via Trebbio, for an entire weekend, transforming it into a great meeting place where local cherries, traditional flavors, and community spirit are the protagonists.
Behind the festival is the passionate work of the Villaggio Argentina Tourist Committee, an association that operates entirely on a voluntary basis and has over 400 members and about eighty active volunteers. It is they, year after year, who set up the stands, prepare the dishes, and liven up the evenings, in a spirit of solidarity that has deep roots in the neighborhood. The Villaggio Argentina festival is not just a gastronomic event: it is an identity-building appointment that tells the story of the most authentic Romagna, that of conviviality, good food, and hospitality.
Romagna cuisine is the true queen of the festival. Under the marquees, you can enjoy the unmissable tagliatelle al ragù, cured meats and cheeses from Valconca, fragrant piadina, and, of course, cherries in all their variations. To accompany the dishes, there is no shortage of Sangiovese, the symbolic wine of the region, the protagonist of tastings curated together with the best wineries in the valley.
The event is enriched by the Passatello Feast, dedicated to one of the most beloved first courses of Romagna and Marche tradition: a mixture of breadcrumbs, eggs, and Parmesan traditionally served in broth. A novelty that expands the gastronomic offer and further celebrates the local culinary heritage.
In addition to the food, the Cherry Festival offers evenings of entertainment for all ages: dialect comedy shows, DJ sets, and live concerts with cover bands that revisit the greatest hits of music. It's the perfect opportunity to enjoy a summer evening in good company, just a stone's throw from Misano beach, discovering the most genuine and popular side of Romagna.
The Cherry Festival 2026 returns to Villaggio Argentina in Misano Adriatico from Friday, June 10 to Sunday, June 12, with the great novelty of the Passatello Feast. Three days dedicated to the flavors of Romagna, featuring traditional cuisine, Valconca wines, dialect comedy, and live concerts in Parco Alberello.
The highlights: Friday's Romagna dinner with comedian Sgabanaza and dialect comedy, the concert by the band Joe Dibrutto on Saturday evening, and the new Passatello Feast, celebrating one of the most beloved traditional first courses.
The festival is held in Parco Alberello, at Via Trebbio 5, in the Villaggio Argentina district of Misano Adriatico (RN).
By car: Exit at Riccione or Cattolica on the A14 motorway, then follow signs for Misano Adriatico and Villaggio Argentina.
By train: Misano Adriatico station on the Bologna-Ancona Adriatic line, a short distance from the district.
Admission to the festival is free; you only pay for what you consume at the food stands. Reservations are recommended for themed dinners on the main evenings.
