About Cersaie

Cersaie is the International Exhibition of Ceramics for Architecture and Bathroom Furnishings, the world's leading event for the sector that transforms the BolognaFiere exhibition centre into a global showcase of tiles, surfaces, sanitary ware, and bathroom design every year. From 21 to 25 September 2026, over 600 exhibitors from dozens of countries will present the latest product innovations, accompanied by a rich cultural program of conferences, exhibitions, and meetings with internationally renowned architects and designers.

Cersaie, the world capital of ceramics is in Bologna

Cersaie is the International Exhibition of Ceramics for Architecture and Bathroom Furnishings and has been the most important event in the world for over forty years for those working in surface design, ceramics, and bathroom furnishings. The event takes place in the exhibition centre of BolognaFiere, in Bologna, the capital of Emilia-Romagna, a region that hosts the famous Sassuolo ceramic district and is the production heart of Italian tiles worldwide.

Dates for the 2026 edition

The 2026 edition will be held from Monday 21 to Friday 25 September 2026. Compared to the traditional end-of-September slot, the dates have been brought forward by a week to allow BolognaFiere to host the Davis Cup tennis finals, which will take place in the Bologna exhibition centre for three consecutive years starting from 2026. The fair is open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM from Monday to Thursday and from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday.

What to see at the fair

Cersaie occupies the entire exhibition centre with sixteen pavilions and over 150,000 square meters of exhibition space. The sectors represented are mainly three:

  • Ceramic tiles and surfaces for floors and walls, the historic core of the event;
  • Bathroom furnishings, with sanitary ware, taps, furniture, bathtubs, showers, and accessories;
  • Installation, raw materials, glazes, colours, and non-ceramic surfaces, completing the product supply chain.

The strong international presence is one of the distinctive features of the exhibition: alongside major Italian brands, there are numerous foreign companies, with Spain traditionally leading in participation.

The cultural program

Cersaie is not just a trade fair: its cultural program is one of the richest in the Italian trade fair landscape. Among the established events are:

  • Costruire Abitare Pensare (Building Living Thinking), the conference series that brings world-renowned architects and designers to Bologna;
  • Café della Stampa (Press Café), daily meetings with the protagonists of design;
  • Città della Posa (City of Installation), dedicated to installation techniques and professionals;
  • Cersaie Upstairs, evening events held throughout the city;
  • the awards ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award, ADI Booth Design Award, and the Tile Competition, along with the Career Day for students.

In the months preceding the fair, the travelling series Road to Cersaie brings meetings aimed at architects, designers, real estate operators, and general contractors to various Italian cities.

An event for professionals and enthusiasts

Promoted by Confindustria Ceramica (Italian Ceramic Manufacturers' Association) and organised by Edi.Cer. spa, Cersaie is dedicated to industry professionals but also remains a unique opportunity for designers, students, and design enthusiasts to discover the latest trends in ceramics and bathroom furnishings. Admission is free upon online registration on the official website, which allows you to receive your personal ticket valid for all days. Bologna, with its tradition of hospitality and its strategic position in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, completes the experience with its cultural and gastronomic offerings.

The 43rd edition of Cersaie will be held at BolognaFiere from Monday 21 to Friday 25 September 2026.
