A dive into the 50s and 60s on the Romagna Riviera
Cattolica Retrò is the event that transforms the so-called Queen of the Romagna Riviera into a large open-air set dedicated to the taste and style of the 50s and 60s. Promoted by the Municipality of Cattolica, in the province of Rimini, and included in the Riviera dell'Emilia-Romagna program, the event attracts fans of beat, swing, soul, and rock'n'roll music, collectors, and the curious of all ages.
The heart of the event beats in Piazza Primo Maggio, where a themed concert comes to life every evening: from tributes to the great Italian songs of Mina and Battisti to homages to the English sound of The Beatles, up to big bands that bring back the swing and rock'n'roll sounds from overseas. The evenings are accompanied by DJ sets, dance school performances, and the dancing atmosphere of the "Be Vintage" format.
Along Viale Bovio winds the large vintage market, featuring retro clothing, antiques, vinyl records, objects, and creative recycling. Accompanying this is the exhibition of vintage cars and scooters and style trucks that color the city center, in an explosion of colors, scents, and memories of the Riviera of the past.
Between swing, lindy hop, and boogie woogie dancing, food trucks, and live music, Cattolica Retrò is a festival designed to involve both adults and children. Admission is completely free and the atmosphere is carefree, with a widespread program that enlivens the center from morning until late at night.
A young but already much-loved event, which combines the tradition of Romagna hospitality with a passion for retro culture, giving Cattolica a nostalgic dive into the heart of the summer season.
The second edition of Cattolica Retrò took place from May 30 to June 2, 2026, animating Piazza Primo Maggio every evening with a themed concert. The program by the Municipality of Cattolica alternated Italian music, English beat, and big bands from overseas, with the vintage market on Viale Bovio open from May 31 to June 2 and the exhibition of vintage cars and scooters.
From May 31 to June 2 (10 AM - 12 AM): vintage and retro items, antiques, creative recycling, exhibition of vintage cars and scooters, and style trucks in the city center.
By train: Cattolica-San Giovanni-Gabicce station, a few minutes from the center. By car: take the Cattolica exit from the A14 motorway, then follow signs for the center; Piazza Primo Maggio is centrally located. By plane: Rimini-Miramare airport, about 25 km away.
Admission to all events is free. The vintage market on Viale Bovio is open from morning until late evening; concerts in Piazza Primo Maggio are held in the evening.
