Crafts, shows, and medieval magic at the foot of the castle
Castello in Fiera is the event that animates the meadow at the foot of the Fénis Castle every spring, one of the most famous medieval manors in the Aosta Valley and Italy. In Fénis, a municipality in the Province of Aosta, the event recreates the atmosphere of the Middle Ages for two days, blending quality craftsmanship, itinerant shows, and historical suggestions.
The heart of the fair are the over seventy stalls of artisans, artists, and local producers, where you can admire and purchase handmade creations and traditional Valdostan works, accompanied by tastings of local products. The fair showcases the talent and artisanal knowledge of the region, in a path that winds through the meadow and the village.
The days are enlivened by jugglers, jesters, and acrobats, fire shows, a fascinating medieval encampment, and especially falconry demonstrations, with bird of prey flight exhibitions that enchant adults and children alike. For the little ones, there are creative workshops, while guided walks allow you to discover the surroundings of the castle.
Admission to the fair is free. The event is ideally linked to the activities of the MAV - Museum of Valdostan Crafts, which offers workshops dedicated to local trades and traditions, making Castello in Fiera an ideal event for families and enthusiasts of history and craftsmanship.
The 8th edition of Castello in Fiera takes place in Fénis on April 11 and 12, 2026, in the meadow at the foot of the famous castle. Over seventy stands of artisans, artists, and local producers offer handmade creations and typical products, in a medieval atmosphere enlivened by falconry demonstrations, historical encampments, jugglers, and fire shows. Creative workshops are planned for children. The novelty of the 2026 edition is the setup of stalls inside the castle as well. Free admission.
Fénis is located about 15 km from Aosta, reachable from the A5 motorway (Nus or Aosta Est exit). The fair takes place in the meadow at the foot of the castle.
Free admission to the fair. On Saturdays, it is generally open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and on Sundays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission to the castle requires a separate ticket from the ticket office.
