About Castle in the Fair

At the foot of Fénis Castle, one of the most famous manors in the Alps, Castello in Fiera transforms the meadow in front into a lively medieval village for two days. Over seventy stands of artisans, artists, and local producers alternate with falconry demonstrations, historical encampments, jugglers, and fire shows. A free event that combines Valdostan handmade creations with the atmosphere of the Middle Ages.

The Middle Ages Come Alive at the Foot of the Castle

Castello in Fiera is the event that animates the meadow at the foot of the Fénis Castle every spring, one of the most famous medieval manors in the Aosta Valley and Italy. In Fénis, a municipality in the Province of Aosta, the event recreates the atmosphere of the Middle Ages for two days, blending quality craftsmanship, itinerant shows, and historical suggestions.

Over Seventy Craft Stalls

The heart of the fair are the over seventy stalls of artisans, artists, and local producers, where you can admire and purchase handmade creations and traditional Valdostan works, accompanied by tastings of local products. The fair showcases the talent and artisanal knowledge of the region, in a path that winds through the meadow and the village.

Falconry, Fire, and Encampments

The days are enlivened by jugglers, jesters, and acrobats, fire shows, a fascinating medieval encampment, and especially falconry demonstrations, with bird of prey flight exhibitions that enchant adults and children alike. For the little ones, there are creative workshops, while guided walks allow you to discover the surroundings of the castle.

A Free Event for the Whole Family

Admission to the fair is free. The event is ideally linked to the activities of the MAV - Museum of Valdostan Crafts, which offers workshops dedicated to local trades and traditions, making Castello in Fiera an ideal event for families and enthusiasts of history and craftsmanship.
