The festival of the Castello di Aviano hamlet, between taste and sport
In the hamlet of Castello di Aviano, at the foot of Piancavallo, between the end of June and the beginning of July, the Castello Festival returns, the village festival organized by the Pro Castello di Aviano Association. Set near the parish church, it is one of the most cherished summer events by the local community, capable of attracting visitors from all over the Pordenone area.
The heart of the festival are the food and wine stalls, well-stocked with traditional specialties and dishes, accompanied by local wines. The festival, which takes place over two weekends, is an opportunity to gather around the table with friends, enjoying genuine flavors and the typical atmosphere of Friulian village festivals.
Alongside gastronomy, the program offers the highly anticipated beach volleyball tournament for younger people, and many evenings of live music: over the years, the Musicanti di Giais, the Night & Swing Quartet, Lucio e i Robusti, Ondacustica, the Sclopit Band, and other local groups have performed, with a lineup alternating ballroom, swing, and Friulian music.
Castello di Aviano is a small village surrounded by the green foothills of Pordenone, an ideal starting point for exploring the Piancavallo area. The summer festival is the best way to experience the authenticity of this corner of Friuli, with taste, sport, and fun.
For 2026, the Castello di Aviano Festival will once again liven up the hamlet between late June and early July, over two weekends, as per tradition. The Pro Castello di Aviano Association will propose the tried-and-tested formula: food and wine stalls, beach volleyball tournament, and live music evenings.
The exact dates have not yet been confirmed: in recent editions, the festival has taken place straddling late June and the first days of July.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be announced in the coming weeks. Based on previous editions, the festival includes:
