Three nights of live music, fresh beer, and street food in the heart of the Tuscia region
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Castel Sant'Elia Beer Festival has become a staple of summer in the Tuscia Viterbese region. Every year in early August, this small village in the province of Viterbo, in the heart of Lazio, transforms into a large open-air party where fresh draft beer meets live music, great food, and a wonderful sense of community. The event is organized by The Hangover Company, which hosted its eleventh edition along Via Enrico De Nicola in 2025.
The heart of the festival is the stage. Each night has its own unique vibe: from rock tribute bands to nostalgia nights celebrating the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, all the way to DJ sets that keep the night going. With dance covers, karaoke, and bands playing the greatest hits, the program is designed to get everyone dancing and singing, from young people to families. Traditionally, the event concludes with a spectacular fireworks display.
As the name suggests, the star of the show is the beer: served fresh on tap throughout the festival. It is paired with an extensive menu of street food and dishes specially prepared for the event, to be enjoyed at tables set up along the street. It captures the classic spirit of Italian village festivals, where good food and beer become an opportunity for locals and visitors from neighboring Tuscia towns to meet and socialize.
The festival is also a great excuse to explore Castel Sant'Elia, a village known for the striking Santuario di Maria Santissima ad Rupes and the dramatic gorges and valleys that surround it, just a few kilometers from Nepi and Civita Castellana. Those arriving for the beer and music will find a region rich in nature, history, and local traditions, typical of the Viterbo hinterland.
The Beer Festival remains a free admission event, designed to be accessible to everyone. It is a simple and genuine way to experience summer evenings in Lazio, with a pint of beer, a sandwich, and music playing late into the night.
Following the eleventh edition in the summer of 2025, the Castel Sant'Elia Beer Festival is expected to return in early August 2026. The organizers from The Hangover Company have not yet announced the official dates or the detailed program for the 2026 edition: the line-up, schedule, and themed nights will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event. For updates, we recommend following the official Facebook page of the festival.
The festival takes place along Via Enrico De Nicola in Castel Sant'Elia (VT), in the Lazio region. Food stands and the stage are set up outdoors along the street.
By car: Castel Sant'Elia can be reached via the Via Cassia or the SS Flaminia, just a few kilometers from Nepi and Civita Castellana; from the A1 motorway, take the Magliano Sabina or Orte exit. By train: Civita Castellana-Magliano station on the Rome-Viterbo railway line, followed by a local bus connection.
Free admission. The events take place in the evening, with food stands opening at dusk. For updated dates and the full program, please check the official Facebook page of the event.
