The May 1st flower and nursery fair in the heart of Cassino
Cassino in Fiore is the spring event that, every May 1st, transforms Corso della Repubblica and the pedestrianized city center of Cassino into a sprawling open-air garden. Promoted by the Municipality of Cassino, in the province of Frosinone, the event was created to revitalize the city center through an initiative that celebrates natural beauty, social connection, and local heritage.
For one full day, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the heart of the city is filled with exhibitors, nurserymen, and agronomists from Cassino and the surrounding area. Visitors can admire floral arrangements, purchase selected and rare plants, consult with experts, and receive practical tips for enhancing their gardens, terraces, and balconies.
During Cassino in Fiore, a special edition of the antiques and vintage market also takes place, with exhibitors located in Piazza Labriola and Via Toti. The blend of vibrant floral colors and the charm of vintage treasures makes for a delightful stroll for families, curious visitors, and collectors alike.
Designed to become an annual appointment and a true civic tradition, the event has quickly won over locals and visitors alike: the second edition in 2026 drew over 10,000 people to the historic center. Cassino in Fiore celebrates the arrival of spring in southern Lazio, offering a free, family-friendly festival in the shadow of the Abbey of Montecassino.
The second edition confirmed the success of the event: the pedestrian center of Cassino was transformed into a large open-air garden, featuring 20 exhibitors, floral displays, flower art, children's workshops, gardening masterclasses, and a food area. The nursery event was complemented by the special edition of the antiques and vintage market in Piazza Labriola and Via Toti. An influx of over 10,000 visitors made the day one of the most attended events of the Cassino spring season.
Friday, May 1st, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, along Corso della Repubblica.
By car: Cassino is served by the A1 Rome-Naples motorway, taking the Cassino exit, just minutes from the center. By train: The Cassino station is on the Rome-Naples line via Cassino, with frequent regional connections; from the station square, Corso della Repubblica is within easy walking distance.
The event takes place on May 1st from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Admission is free for visitors of all ages.
The center is pedestrianized for the occasion, so it is recommended to leave your car in the parking lots near the center. The day is perfect for families with children thanks to the workshops and educational activities.
