Three days of music and culture in Centobuchi di Monteprandone
The Cassandra Fest is one of the most vibrant summer events in the Municipality of Monteprandone, in the province of Ascoli Piceno, southern Marche. It takes place in Centobuchi, the most populous hamlet of the municipality, and transforms Piazza dell'Unità into an open-air stage where live music meets cinema, cultural encounters, and social commitment.
Founded in 2022 on the initiative of the association Prima Persona Plurale, the festival has grown edition after edition to become a benchmark for the Italian alternative and singer-songwriter scene. Its formula combines three evenings of free concerts with a rich supporting program of debates, workshops for children, and screenings, with the stated goal of building a shared cultural model based on local realities.
The heart of the Cassandra Fest is the evening live performances in the piazza, which each year bring prominent names from the Italian independent music scene to Centobuchi, alongside emerging artists from the Piceno area invited to open the evenings. A distributed calendar revolves around the concerts: the Cassandra Contest, reserved for local bands and artists, precedes the festival in June, while the event days feature afternoon meetings, debates, and workshops for children.
The festival has always cultivated a strong social vocation, collaborating with local services to convey messages of prevention and inclusion within the entertainment. It is this blend of fun and content that distinguishes the Cassandra Fest from classic summer festivals.
Monteprandone is one of the villages in the Piceno area linked to the figure of San Giacomo della Marca, and Centobuchi represents its most modern and dynamic face, along the Tronto valley a few kilometers from the Adriatic coast and San Benedetto del Tronto. The Cassandra Fest is part of a summer rich in events promoted by the Municipality of Monteprandone, offering residents and visitors an opportunity to experience the piazza with quality music, food, and social interaction.
The 2026 edition of the Cassandra Fest enlivens Piazza dell'Unità in Centobuchi di Monteprandone for three evenings, from July 3rd to 5th, with free admission. The distributed format, blending live music, culture, and social commitment, is also confirmed, with the food & beverage area open in the piazza from the evening.
The festival is preceded, on June 12th at the Parco della Conoscenza in Centobuchi, by the Cassandra Contest, the music competition for local bands, female and male artists, curated by Prima Persona Plurale.
