The grand finale of Carnevale in Tour
The Sangiano Carnival parade, a small municipality in the province of Varese overlooking Lake Maggiore, is the concluding stage of the Carnevale in Tour, the travelling event that touches seven municipalities between Valcuvia and the lake. Organized by the Pro Loco of Sangiano, the day is described as "the most colorful festival of the year".
Allegorical floats and masked groups
The heart of the event is the parade of allegorical floats and masked groups that winds through the village streets along a circular route. A jury evaluates the participants and awards prizes to the best in two categories, allegorical floats and masked groups, in a climate of joy and color that involves the entire community.
A festival for families
Alongside the parade, the Pro Loco enlivens the day with entertainment for children, inflatables, prize games, face painting, and balloons, as well as a food stand with Carnival sweets and specialties such as chiacchiere, frittelle, churros, and cotton candy. An event that beautifully closes the Carnival season in the Varese area.
Sangiano Carnival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Sangiano parade takes place on February 22 as the concluding stage of Carnevale in Tour. Seven allegorical floats and eight masked groups are registered for the parade, which starts from Parco Villa Fantoni and winds through the village streets along a circular route. Six judges positioned in Piazza Dario Fo and Franca Rame will award prizes to the best floats and groups. The Pro Loco enlivens the day with entertainment for children, inflatables, games, and a food stand.

- 2:30 PM - Parade start: seven allegorical floats and eight masked groups along Via Besozzi, Via della Liberta, Via da Vinci, and Via C. Alberto
- Award ceremony for the best floats and masked groups (judges in Piazza Dario Fo and Franca Rame)

- Pro Loco food stand with churros, candies, cotton candy, frittelle, and chiacchiere
- Inflatables, prize games, face painting, and balloons for children
