About Carnevale in Piazza Rivergaro

The Carnevale in Piazza of Rivergaro, in the heart of Val Trebbia in the province of Piacenza, is the most colorful and anticipated winter festival for children. Organized by the Pro Loco Tramballando, it enlivens Piazza Paolo Araldi with two afternoons of games, confetti, and joy. Giant inflatables, face painting, cotton candy, treasure hunts, and Funtasia animation shows welcome children and families in a atmosphere of simple and genuine popular celebration, where all activities are offered free of charge.

The Children's Carnival in Rivergaro

Carnevale in Piazza is the event that transforms the center of Rivergaro, a charming town on the Trebbia river in the province of Piacenza, into a large play area for children every year. Promoted by the historic Pro Loco Tramballando, the event brings masks, streamers, and lots of entertainment to the town's streets, confirming a tradition much loved by families from all over Val Trebbia and the Piacentino area.

Two Afternoons of Celebration in Piazza Paolo Araldi

The heart of the event is Piazza Paolo Araldi, which fills with colors and laughter for two February afternoons. The event starts at 4:00 PM, when the square comes alive with a packed program of activities designed for children and their companions. It's a simple and popular festival, without spectacular pretensions but capable of attracting numerous participants each year, as evidenced by the confirmed success by the president of the Pro Loco, Doretta Fossati.

Entertainment, Games, and Sweets for the Little Ones

The program offers everything that makes a Carnival afternoon unforgettable for children:

  • Plenty of confetti and streamers
  • Giant inflatables and a small funfair with some novelties
  • Face painting and face painting
  • Cotton candy and sweets to enjoy
  • Treasure hunt, especially on the second day, a game that takes you back in time
  • Funtasia animation shows

All activities are offered free of charge by the Pro Loco, in the spirit of a celebration open to the entire community.

A Tradition of Pro Loco Tramballando

Behind Carnevale in Piazza is the commitment of Pro Loco Tramballando, an association that has been a symbol of Rivergaro's life for over twenty years, organizing festivals and events throughout the year that enhance the village and its community. The Carnival represents one of the most cherished events in the winter calendar, a moment of intergenerational gathering where the square becomes the town's main living room.

Rivergaro and Val Trebbia

Nestled along the banks of the Trebbia, Rivergaro is one of Emilia-Romagna's most popular destinations for those seeking nature, good food, and authentic traditions just a few kilometers from Piacenza. Participating in Carnevale in Piazza is also an opportunity to discover this corner of the Piacenza province, with its riverside, its town center's eateries, and the renowned hospitality of Val Trebbia.
