The Carnevale a Sorpresa is the carnival celebration of Supino, a village in the province of Frosinone nestled on the slopes of the Lepini Mountains, in the heart of Ciociaria, in the Lazio Region. It is promoted by the All Together Now association, a dynamic group of local young people who have been working for years to create moments of social gathering, with the patronage and collaboration of the Municipality of Supino. In 2026, the event reached the milestone of its tenth edition, confirming a path of constant growth that has made it one of the most anticipated winter events in Supino.
The parade of allegorical floats
The heart of the festival is the parade of allegorical floats that travels through the town streets, starting from Piazzale Kennedy. The floats, along with the scenery and decorations, are the result of weeks of work by the association's volunteers: a collective effort involving dozens of young people, the true protagonists of the event. Masked groups of all ages parade along the route amidst music, confetti, and streamers, while every corner of the historic center comes alive with color and laughter.
Music, shows, and entertainment
The procession is accompanied every year by live performances that enrich the festive afternoon. Recent editions have featured the Ceccano marching band, cheerleading groups with acrobatic choreographies, and, in the 2026 edition, the flag-wavers of Carpineto Romano, with drums, synchronized tosses, and impressive routines. There is also entertainment for children, DJ sets that keep the party going until evening, and a dedicated street food area, where local businesses offer traditional Supino dishes and specialties.

The Carnevale a Sorpresa is part of the rich calendar of the Ciociaria Carnival, which enlivens the villages of the Frosinone province between February and Shrove Tuesday, from Frosinone with the Festa della RÃ deca to Sora, Pontecorvo, and Alatri. However, the festival in Supino has a unique character: more than just a large event, it is a community festival, simple and participatory, designed for families and built from the ground up. Carnevale a Sorpresa 2026: the tenth edition
The 2026 edition of the Carnevale a Sorpresa had a special flavor: the milestone of the tenth edition, an opportunity to look back at the journey of the All Together Now association and its contribution to the cultural and social life of Supino. Initially scheduled for early February, the festival was postponed due to bad weather and took place on Sunday, February 15, 2026, with a crowded historic center and an atmosphere of great enthusiasm.
The program included a gathering in the La Macchiozza area in the early afternoon and the start of the parade from Piazzale Kennedy at 2:30 PM. Along the town streets, the allegorical floats created in the previous weeks by volunteers paraded, with detailed scenery and decorations, accompanied by masks, confetti, and music.
The highlight of the edition was the performance by the flag-wavers of Carpineto Romano: drums, synchronized movements, and sequences of tosses that enchanted the audience of all ages. The day confirmed the spirit of the event, with young people at the forefront of the organization and a large, peaceful turnout, with free admission.

How to get there
By car: Supino can be reached via the A1 Rome-Naples motorway, taking the Ferentino exit and continuing towards Supino; the town is about 15 km from Frosinone. The parade gathers in the La Macchiozza area, with the procession starting from Piazzale Kennedy.
