Contemporary art and wine in the hills of Capo Rasocolmo, Messina
The Capo Rasocolmo Summer Fest is a summer event organized by Tenuta Rasocolmo Winery & Art Resort, located on the northern coast of Messina in the Piano Torre area, just a stone's throw from the Capo Rasocolmo promontory. Now in its eighth edition in 2025, the festival is rooted in a simple concept deeply connected to Sicilian culture: bringing art and wine—two universal languages of the Italian tradition—into conversation in a place where winemaking meets contemporary artistic research.
The cultural heart of the festival is the Visual Arts and Contemporary Languages section, curated by art historian and critic Mariateresa Zagone. The program features solo and group exhibitions with a strong curatorial focus, designed to present contemporary Sicilian art as an ongoing dialogue with the local artistic and collecting scene. The exhibitions, hosted within the estate's grounds, welcome visitors throughout the summer, from late afternoon until evening.
Inaugurations are held at sunset and evolve into convivial gatherings: vernissages are followed by aperitifs and tastings of the estate's wines (advance booking required). This format combines the enjoyment of art with the discovery of local oenological production, creating an experience that celebrates the landscape and the food and wine heritage of the northern Messina province.
Over the years, the Summer Fest has established itself as a reference point for contemporary art in the Messina area, providing a platform for Sicilian artists and hosting moments of historical and cultural reflection related to the city of Messina. The setting of Tenuta Rasocolmo, amidst vineyards, olive trees, and sea views, makes every edition an opportunity to experience the most authentic Sicily, where culture, landscape, and hospitality converge.
The Visual Arts section of the 2026 edition was inaugurated with the solo exhibition «Quasi Figura» by Enrica Passoni, also curated by Mariateresa Zagone. The full dates for the 2026 summer program are announced progressively by the estate throughout the season.
The Visual Arts and Contemporary Languages section of the 2026 edition, curated by Mariateresa Zagone, was inaugurated with the solo exhibition «Quasi Figura» by artist Enrica Passoni.
Passoni's research begins with recognizable photographic images, progressively altered and abstracted through subtraction: faces, central elements in the construction of visual identity, are veiled, abraded, or erased, giving life to ambiguous presences—«quasi-figures»—suspended between appearance and dissolution. The works, created on tissue paper and applied to wood with pastel, gauze, and other materials, seem to emerge and recede without ever fully stabilizing.
Vernissage on May 23, 2026 at 7:00 PM; exhibition open until August 31, 2026, with indicative hours 5:00 PM–10:00 PM. Aperitifs and tastings of the estate's wines are available by reservation. Further dates for the 2026 summer program are communicated progressively.
