Grand itinerant chamber music in the villages of Lower Salento
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Capo di Leuca Festival — International Chamber Music Review is one of the most prestigious musical events in Salento, dedicated to great chamber music. The festival has a deeply itinerant vocation: every summer, between July and September, concerts travel through the most fascinating villages of the southernmost tip of Puglia, the Capo di Leuca, bringing classical music into castles, churches, cloisters, squares, and ancient courtyards steeped in history.
Based in Morciano di Leuca, in the Province of Lecce, the festival involves sixteen municipalities of Lower Salento: Alessano, Andrano, Castrignano del Capo, Corsano, Diso, Gagliano del Capo, Matino, Morciano di Leuca, Poggiardo, Presicce-Acquarica, Salve, Specchia, Taurisano, Taviano, Tricase, and Ugento. This choice transforms the festival into a true cultural journey through the territory, combining the enhancement of artistic and landscape heritage with international-level musical offerings.
The festival is organized by the social promotion association Eleusi APS and is conceived and directed by the young pianist Alessandro Licchetta, supported by an artistic committee that has brought together musicians such as bassoonist and composer Lorenzo Baglivo, violist Cristian Musio, and pianist Andrea Sequestro over the years. The review attracts soloists and chamber ensembles from all over the world, offering the public programs ranging from the classical repertoire to vocal and sacred music.
Alongside the evening concerts, the Capo di Leuca Festival offers free masterclasses aimed at young musicians, high-level training moments that have attracted students from various countries over the years, as well as exhibitions and tastings of typical products that guide the public in discovering the territory. The formula thus combines musical excellence with the food, wine, and tourism promotion of the Capo di Leuca.
With its calendar spread throughout the summer, the festival is now a highly anticipated event for those spending their holidays in southern Salento and for chamber music enthusiasts. The setting of the Apulian villages, between the Ionian and Adriatic seas, makes every concert an experience that weaves together art, history, and landscape.
The 2026 edition of the Capo di Leuca Festival — International Chamber Music Review has not yet been officially announced at the time of publication of this entry. Based on previous editions, the review is expected to return during the summer with itinerant chamber music concerts in the municipalities of Lower Salento, in the Province of Lecce. To find out dates, program, and venues, we recommend following the official channels of the Eleusi APS association.
