Cantine Aperte is Italy's most renowned wine tourism event, promoted by the Movimento Turismo del Vino, which opens hundreds of wineries across the country to the public every year on the last weekend of May. In Abruzzo, the initiative is coordinated by the Movimento Turismo del Vino Abruzzo and involves dozens of estates spread across the region's five wine-growing territories: Terre dei Vestini, Terre Aquilane, Colline Teramane, Casauria, and Colline Teatine.

Among the historic participants is the Cantina Zaccagnini in Bolognano, located in the province of Pescara within the Casauria subzone. Founded in 1978, the winery is famous for its Abruzzo wines—from Montepulciano d'Abruzzo to Trebbiano—and for its unmistakable Tralcetto, the bottle featuring a small vine twig tied to its neck, which has become the company's trademark. Since 1984, the winery has also served as a cultural space, hosting works by various artists and a permanent art gallery, staying true to the philosophy of "wine as an art of man."

A weekend of wine, music, and local culture

During Cantine Aperte, Cantina Zaccagnini offers guided tours of the facility, tastings of their wines, food trucks with local gastronomic specialties, children's entertainment, DJ sets, and live concerts. The event spans the entire weekend, with extended hours that allow guests to experience the winery throughout the afternoon and evening, nestled among the rows of vines and the hills of the Tirino Valley.
