The magic of winter in the heart of the Canazei summer
The Canazei Night Event is one of the most original summer appointments in Canazei, in the heart of Val di Fassa in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). For one August evening, the town center dresses up for winter: artificial snow covers Strèda Roma and Piaz G. Marconi, transforming the streets of the Dolomite village into a true snowy village under the peaks of the Sella and the Marmolada.
The stars of the evening are the instructors of the Scuola Sci Canazei Marmolada, who perform elegant alpine skiing, snowboarding, freestyle, and Nordic skiing choreographies on the white track improvised in the town center. The jumps and evolutions of the snow professionals recreate, in the middle of summer, the atmosphere that makes the Sellaronda ski area famous during the winter season. The show concludes with a suggestive torchlight procession that illuminates the Fassa night.
The Canazei Night Event is not just about sports: the evening is enriched by the presence of folk groups and the Ladin masks of the Carnival, which bring the rituals and costumes of the Ladin culture of Val di Fassa to the center of Canazei. Music, entertainment, and tradition accompany the audience throughout the evening, offering an authentic portrait of the identity of this corner of the Dolomites.
Organized by the APT Val di Fassa in collaboration with the Scuola Sci Canazei Marmolada, the Canazei Night Event is now a long-awaited appointment of the Fassa summer: an unusual and spectacular way to showcase the winter vocation of Canazei and the Sellaronda to those visiting the Dolomites during the warm season.
On August 24, 2026, the center of Canazei hosts a new edition of the Canazei Night Event. From 9:00 PM, the streets of the village, particularly Strèda Roma and Piaz G. Marconi, will be covered in snow to welcome the show by the instructors of the Scuola Sci Canazei Marmolada.
The program includes alpine skiing, snowboarding, freestyle, and Nordic skiing choreographies, followed by the suggestive torchlight procession and entertainment by folk groups and the Ladin masks of the Carnival. At the end of the show, the snowy area remains open to the public. Admission is free; in case of bad weather, the event is postponed to the following day.
