The ruzzola, a game of tradition
The ruzzola is one of the oldest traditional games in central Italy: it consists of throwing a wooden disc (originally a wheel of aged cheese) wrapped with a rope, making it roll as far as possible. The unwinding rope gives it rotation. Practiced for centuries along the dirt roads of the Umbrian, Marche, and Lazio countryside, it is now protected as a recognized traditional sport.
