About Cammino dei Santuari

In May, the Cammino dei Santuari (Path of the Sanctuaries) leads to the rediscovery of the historical-religious heritage of Riccò del Golfo with a collective walk of about 9 kilometers. From Ponzò to the sanctuaries of San Gottardo and dell'Agostina, through villages and oratories, the initiative combines hiking, faith, and knowledge of the territory in the hinterland of the Gulf of La Spezia.

Walking between faith and landscape

In Riccò del Golfo di Spezia, a municipality in the hinterland of the province of La Spezia, the Cammino dei Santuari is a collective walk that crosses the historical and religious heritage of the area. The initiative, promoted by the Municipality together with the Pro Loco I Borghi di Riccò, invites residents and visitors to rediscover often little-known paths, sanctuaries, and villages.

The route

The route, approximately 9.3 kilometers long, starts from the church of San Bartolomeo in Ponzò and reaches the Sanctuary of dell'Agostina, passing through the Sanctuary of San Gottardo and the village of Casella. The return to Ponzò is via Valdipino, with a visit to the historic Oratory of San Michele.

A heritage to rediscover

More than just a simple excursion, the Cammino dei Santuari is an opportunity to learn about the cultural and spiritual identity of the Spezia hinterland, amidst chapels, oratories, and ancient places of worship immersed in the green hills overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia.
