Camminata della Quercia

A walk for everyone in the heart of the Bassa mantovana

The Camminata della Quercia is one of the most cherished running events in Suzzara, a town in the Province of Mantova overlooking the Po plain. It is not a competitive race but a fun run (marcia ludico-motoria), open to anyone who wants to walk or run without the pressure of the stopwatch: families, groups of friends, amateur athletes, and more seasoned runners meet side-by-side along the routes that cross the territory.

The routes

The start is set at the Quercia Sport Village on viale Lenin, the sports hub that gives the event its name. From here, two routes unfold, designed for every level of fitness:

• 5 km — the short route, ideal for families and walkers;
• 10 km — the longer loop for those who want to challenge themselves.

Both routes are monitored by staff along the way and accompanied by the usual refreshment points. The event is included in the FIASP calendars for fun runs.

Sport, health, and community

Organized by the Gruppo Podistico AVIS Suzzara, the Camminata della Quercia focuses on three words: well-being, socialising, and movement. The link with AVIS recalls the theme of donation and health, and the event has always been an occasion for gathering the entire Suzzara community. The largest groups are awarded participation prizes, a sign of the collective spirit that animates the day.

For the streets affected by the participants' passage, the Local Police implement temporary traffic modifications to ensure the safety of walkers and runners.
