Wine and local excellences in Via Passeri
Every year, Via Passeri, one of the most characteristic streets in the historic center of Pesaro, the provincial capital along with Urbino of the province of Pesaro and Urbino in the Marche region, dresses up for Calicity, the event celebrating wine and the enogastronomic excellences of the territory. Promoted by the Municipality of Pesaro in collaboration with Connubio di Vino and trade associations, it is now one of the city's most beloved and attended events.
From 6 PM to midnight, the street becomes an enogastronomic route hundreds of meters long: with a glass in hand and a lanyard around your neck, you move freely among the winery stalls, tasting the labels and discovering the stories of the producers. It's not just about tasting, but about getting to know the work of the wineries in the province of Pesaro and Urbino up close, from the wines of Bianchello del Metauro to the productions from the hills between the Foglia and Metauro rivers.
The stars of the evening are about twenty local wineries and producers, with dozens of labels available for tasting. Alongside wine, there is also extra virgin olive oil and other typical products, while the restaurants and bars on Via Passeri offer gastronomic pairings. The atmosphere is that of a convivial and festive evening, where wine tourism meets the life of the historic center.
In recent years, Calicity has been enriched by Fuori Cantina, a calendar of events spread over the days preceding the main event, with meetings, tastings, and moments of discussion among producers, restaurateurs, and wine tourists in various locations in the city. The event also pays great attention to responsible driving, with the designated driver initiative rewarded with an alcohol-free and food kit.
A perfect opportunity for wine lovers and for those who want to experience the historic center of Pesaro in a festive mood, discovering the best that the Marche region has to offer in a glass.
