Wine, music, and shows in the historic center of Santarcangelo
Calici Santarcangelo is one of the most beloved summer gastronomic events in Romagna. Every year, in the early August evenings, the historic center of Santarcangelo di Romagna (Province of Rimini, Emilia-Romagna) fills with tasting stands, glasses, and aromas: for two evenings, the Malatesta village becomes a large open-air lounge dedicated to wine and conviviality.
The event unfolds as a widespread itinerary along the streets and squares of the town: from Piazza Ganganelli to Via Cavour, from Via Don Minzoni to Piazza delle Monache. Each area has its own oenological identity, with spaces dedicated to still wines from Romagna, sparkling wines, organic, biodynamic, and natural wines, and a square reserved for international labels.
The main weekend is preceded by Calici Week, a week of introductory events — city walks, winery visits, and themed events — that accompany the public towards the two main evenings of the festival.
Organized by Pro Loco Santarcangelo di Romagna APS together with the network of local organizations, Calici Santarcangelo has obtained the prestigious national mark "Quality Event" from UNPLI (National Union of Pro Loco of Italy), recognizing the organizational level and the ability to enhance the territory and its products. The event thus confirms itself as a benchmark for both the local community and for wine tourism in the entire Emilia-Romagna region.
The setting for the festival is one of the most characteristic villages in Romagna, with its cobblestone streets, tuff caves, and the famous Piazza Ganganelli. A destination that combines wine culture with the discovery of a town rich in history, just a few kilometers from Rimini and the Adriatic coast.
The 28th edition of Calici Santarcangelo will take place on Friday, August 7th, and Saturday, August 8th, 2026, in the historic center of Santarcangelo di Romagna, with the theme "Between Dream and Reality." It is the first edition to bear the national UNPLI "Quality Event" mark, awarded in the spring of 2026 in Rome.
The formula that made the event famous is confirmed: over 35 wineries spread across the squares and streets of the village, typical Romagna cuisine, live music, and street performances. The evenings start at 7:00 PM and continue until late at night. The main weekend is preceded by Calici Week, a week of events starting August 1st, with walks and winery visits.
