An evening of wine and stars in Monleale Alto

Calici di Stelle is the summer event that, in the evocative setting of Monleale Alto, the upper district of the municipality of Monleale in the province of Alessandria, celebrates wine and conviviality on the magical Night of San Lorenzo. The event takes place in Piazza Capsoni and along the village streets, which for one night become an open-air food and wine trail, enlivened by music and illuminated by shooting stars.

Local wine as the protagonist

The heart of the evening is the tasting of wines from the Colli Tortonesi, a wine-growing area in lower Piedmont that boasts Timorasso (the famous Derthona) as its internationally recognized excellence, alongside Barbera, Cortese, and other local labels. The tasting stands of local producers allow visitors to discover a high-quality oenological heritage, paired with the flavors of Piedmontese cuisine and typical local products.

Part of a national circuit

The Monleale stop is part of the major national Calici di Stelle circuit, promoted by the Movimento Turismo del Vino in collaboration with the Associazione Nazionale Città del Vino, which every year between late July and mid-August lights up dozens of Italian villages and wineries with themed tastings. In Monleale, the organization is managed by the Municipality, with the support of local associations.
