Cabaret and Abruzzese folk music at Parco Bosseto, in the heart of the Vicalvi Summer
As part of the Vicalvi Summer calendar, the series of events promoted by the municipal administration, the Cabaret Evening with Nduccio and his band is one of the most anticipated highlights. The stage is set at Parco Bosseto, a green space at the foot of the village of Vicalvi in the province of Frosinone. During summer evenings, this open-air venue transforms into a gathering place for families, vacationers, and residents of the Comino Valley. Starting at 9:00 PM, the show alternates between comedic monologues and live music, following a proven format that has been selling out town squares across Central Italy for decades.
Behind the stage name Nduccio is Germano D'Aurelio, an artist from Pescara active since the late 1970s. He is the author of numerous albums and a television personality known for his work alongside Renzo Arbore. His trademark is humorous songs in the Abruzzese dialect: ironic and affectionate lyrics that tell stories of provincial life, traditions, and daily quirks, performed live with his band. It is folk cabaret in the truest sense, capable of making even non-dialect speakers laugh, and it finds a devoted audience in Vicalvi, given the proximity between the Ciociaria region and Abruzzo.
The evening offers more than just a show: Parco Bosseto also hosts the first edition of the Grilled Meat Festival, with grills fired up and the aromas of the most convivial Ciociarian cuisine filling the air. To complete the scene, a vintage car exhibition attracts enthusiasts and curious onlookers alike. The result is a comprehensive festival where you can arrive for dinner, stroll among historic vehicles, and stay late into the evening for the performance.
The evening with Nduccio effectively kicks off the main program of the Vicalvi Summer 2026, which continues with the Pro Loco evening "E via cantando" in Piazza Giovanni Paolo II on July 25, a karaoke and culinary night on August 9, the Ferragosto briscola card tournament in the historic center, and the Crespella Festival at the San Rocco church square on August 17. It is a program designed by the Municipality to bring life to the town throughout the summer.
Vicalvi is one of the most charming villages in the Comino Valley, in southeastern Lazio, dominated by the ruins of a Lombard castle with a large red cross visible from across the valley. The town, which has a few hundred inhabitants, comes back to life in the summer and intensely enjoys its community events. Attending an evening of the Vicalvi Summer means discovering an authentic corner of the Ciociaria region, amidst nature, history, and genuine hospitality, just a stone's throw from Lake Posta Fibreno and the mountains of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park.
The 2026 edition of the cabaret evening at Parco Bosseto is confirmed by the official Vicalvi Summer poster published by the Municipality of Vicalvi. Taking the stage are Nduccio โ born Germano D'Aurelio, a comedian and musician from Pescara made famous by his humorous songs in the Abruzzese dialect and his television appearances with Renzo Arbore โ and his band, for a live show that blends monologues and folk music.
The evening is enriched by two side events that transform it into a true village festival: the first edition of the Grilled Meat Festival, with food stands and grills fired up from dinner time, and a vintage car exhibition set up in the park area. It is the opening event of the 2026 summer calendar, which will continue until August 17 with musical evenings, karaoke, the Ferragosto briscola tournament, and the Crespella Festival.
Vicalvi is located in the province of Frosinone, in the Comino Valley. It can be reached by car from the SoraโCassino highway, taking the VicalviโPosta Fibreno exit. From Rome, take the A1 motorway and then the highway towards Sora (approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes). Parco Bosseto is at the foot of the village, with parking available in the surrounding areas.
