C.U.R.A. Festival

A widespread festival on the Ionian coast

The C.U.R.A. Festival is one of the most distinctive summer events in the Municipality of Leporano, a village overlooking the Ionian Sea in the province of Taranto, Puglia. Organized by the Pro Loco of Leporano, the event takes its name from an acronym that encapsulates its spirit: Culture, Union, Research, and Environment. Created to promote the territory and its community, it has grown over the years to become a highly anticipated date in the long Leporano summer.

Borgo Angelica and the Gandoli district

The heart of the event is Borgo Angelica, located on Via Masseria Carducci in the Gandoli district, just a short walk from the Ionian beaches. This charming rural setting provides the backdrop for evenings that weave together cinema, music, and conviviality, in the informal and family-friendly atmosphere typical of Apulian Pro Loco associations.

Culture, cinema, and food & wine

The C.U.R.A. Festival program is multidisciplinary and spans several weeks, between the second half of August and September. Recurring highlights include:

• Auteur cinema with the CineCena series, which combines outdoor screenings with dinner;
• Musical evenings with DJ sets and concerts;
• Tastings of typical products from the Ionian gastronomic tradition;
• Community archaeology meetings to rediscover the history of the area;
• Solidarity initiatives and charity fundraisers.

A project for the territory

The festival is part of the Itineraries of Taste and Community Archaeology project, supported by the Puglia Region as part of initiatives dedicated to Pro Loco associations. The goal is to combine tourism promotion, local identity, and social commitment, offering residents and visitors an authentic way to experience the Ionian summer.
