The national festival of ceramics among workshops, museums, and laboratories
Buongiorno Ceramica! is the national festival that annually involves the Italian Ceramic Cities, promoted by the Italian Association of Ceramic Cities (AiCC). In Bassano del Grappa, in the province of Vicenza, the event celebrates a tradition that has made the city famous worldwide, with historic workshops, museums, and dedicated collections.
The Bassano program combines open workshops, demonstrations of the entire ceramic production process, majolica painting workshops for adults and children, exhibitions, and guided tours of the "Giuseppe Roi" Ceramic Museum in Palazzo Sturm. The events take place in the historic centre, Palazzo Bonaguro, and the artisan workshops in the area.
Bassano ceramics have roots stretching back centuries: the festival offers the chance to meet master artisans, see the potter's wheel and kilns in action, and understand the deep connection between Bassano del Grappa and this art. The initiative is organised by the Municipality in collaboration with local entities such as Promo Bassano Piรน, Sbittarte, and the "Il pesce rosso" laboratory.
The 2026 edition, the twelfth of the national festival, offers a rich calendar of events dedicated to ceramics in Bassano del Grappa. It begins on Friday, May 22, at Palazzo Bonaguro with an evening majolica painting workshop, continuing over the weekend with demonstrations of the entire production process, exhibitions, and guided tours of the Ceramic Museum.
All initiatives are designed to engage families, enthusiasts, and the curious, with particular attention to children and direct interaction with master artisans.
Bassano del Grappa is reachable by train (lines from Venice, Padua, and Trento) and by car via the SP248. Palazzo Bonaguro is located at Via Angarano 77, the Ceramic Museum at Palazzo Sturm in Vicolo Schiavonetti.
Visits to the Ceramic Museum are free (with a paid entrance fee to the museum), with a maximum of 20 participants per session and mandatory booking at the IAT of Bassano (0424 519917, [email protected]).
