When August arrives, Brusimpiano - a small municipality in the province of Varese nestled on the Italian shore of Lake Ceresio - brings to life one of its most cherished traditions: the Fish Festival. Organized by the Pro Loco of Brusimpiano, the festival transforms Piazza Lago into the beating heart of the village's summer, in one of the most evocative natural settings on the Lombardy-Switzerland border.
Fish Takes Center Stage
The common thread of the event is fish, presented in dishes prepared according to traditional lake and sea recipes, alongside sandwiches, beer, and other gastronomic offerings. You can eat outdoors, by the lake, in an informal setting that attracts residents and visitors from neighboring towns every year.
Music and Conviviality
The Fish Festival is not just about food. The evenings of Friday and Saturday are enlivened by music with DJs, while Sunday concludes with live music.
