About Brunico in Festa

Brunico in Festa (Stadtfest Bruneck) is one of the largest city festivals in South Tyrol. Every two years, in odd-numbered years, the historic center of Brunico transforms for three days into a massive open-air stage, featuring over twenty local associations animating squares and alleys with live music on multiple stages, traditional culinary specialties, and a grand Sunday parade. Free admission.

Brunico in Festa, the major event of the Puster Valley

Brunico in Festa, known in German as Stadtfest Bruneck (or Altstadtfest), is one of the most beloved and well-attended events in South Tyrol. It takes place in the heart of Brunico/Bruneck, the main town of the Puster Valley, in the Province of Bolzano/Bozen, within the Trentino-Alto Adige region. For three days, the historic center—with its famous main street and squares nestled at the foot of the castle—turns into a vibrant festival setting brought to life by local associations.

A biennial celebration

Brunico in Festa is not an annual event: it is held every two years, in odd-numbered years. The last edition took place from July 18 to 20, 2025, while the next is expected in July 2027. This schedule makes the festival a highly anticipated event for both residents and tourists, drawing thousands of visitors from across the valley and neighboring regions.

Music, associations, and local flavors

The program is built around multiple musical stages distributed across the main squares—from Town Hall Square (Piazza Municipio) to Tschurtschenthaler Square, from Gilm Square to the Graben—where musicians of all genres perform, ranging from traditional brass bands to modern ensembles. Over twenty local associations manage the food stands, offering South Tyrolean culinary specialties in a convivial atmosphere.

  • Concerts and live music on multiple stages throughout the historic center
  • Food stands managed by local associations
  • Entertainment program for families and children
  • Grand Sunday parade with folk groups, marching bands, and floats

The parade and the Euroregional spirit

The highlight is the grand parade on Sunday afternoon, which winds through the center with dozens of groups in traditional costume, marching bands, and floats. In some editions, the festival intertwines with the EUREGIO Fest, an initiative of the Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino Euroregion that brings processions, concerts, markets, and workshops from the three territories to Brunico, highlighting the cross-border vocation of this borderland.

A free-admission event

Brunico in Festa offers free admission for all days. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the charm of Brunico's historic center, breathe in the authentic atmosphere of the Puster Valley, and savor the gastronomic and musical traditions of South Tyrol.

Brunico in Festa — edition 2026
