Signature jazz on the Brolo seafront, between the sea and the Aeolian Islands
The Brolo DOC Jazz Festival is one of the most anticipated musical events of the summer on the Tyrrhenian coast of the Messina province. Every August, the Municipality of Brolo hosts a program dedicated to jazz, swing, and Italian singer-songwriter music on its seafront, attracting a large audience of both locals and tourists vacationing along the Sicilian coast.
The festival evenings take place on the Luigi Rizzo Seafront, which transforms into an open-air theater with a view of the sea and, on clear days, the silhouette of the Aeolian Islands. The natural scenery of the Brolo coastline, combined with the quality of the programming, makes this event one of the top cultural highlights of the summer in the Nebrodi area.
The event was born as an evolution of the previous Doc Festival and has progressively established itself as a benchmark jazz festival for the region. The artistic direction is entrusted to Sergio Camuti, who curates a selection of prominent national and international names every year, alternating between established performers and original projects. The organization is handled by the Municipality of Brolo, which includes the festival in a broader calendar of summer events.
Over the years, the festival stage has hosted artists such as Simona Molinari, Flo, and Federica D'Andrea, confirming the Brolo DOC Jazz Festival's commitment to combining great music with the tourism promotion of Brolo and the entire Tyrrhenian Sicily.
The 2026 edition of the festival takes place on August 11 and 12 on the Luigi Rizzo Seafront in Brolo, with concerts starting at 9:30 PM and free admission.
On Tuesday, August 11, Raphael Gualazzi takes the stageโa pianist, singer-songwriter, and composer known for his style that blends jazz, blues, soul, and Italian singer-songwriter music. On Wednesday, August 12, it is the turn of Chiara Civello, considered one of the most elegant, versatile, and international voices of Italian jazz.
These two evenings confirm the festival's formula: quality music in a suggestive setting by the sea, in the heart of the Brolo summer.
Brolo is located on the Tyrrhenian coast of Messina. By car, take the Brolo exit on the A20 Messina-Palermo motorway. By train, the Brolo-Ficarra station is served by the Tyrrhenian line. The nearest airport is Catania Fontanarossa.
The concerts are held on the Luigi Rizzo Seafront, generally starting at 9:30 PM.
Admission is free and open to the public. We recommend arriving early to secure a seat.
