About BorghilentiFestival

BorghilentiFestival is the cultural event that celebrates slowness, landscape, and the regeneration of small communities in Basso Lodigiano. With its main base in Castelnuovo Bocca d'Adda, from 2026 the festival expands its boundaries thanks to the Borghilenti+ project, which officially brings the Municipality of Meleti, in the Province of Lodi, into the circuit. Through excursions, guided tours, performances, talks, concerts, workshops, and exhibitions, the festival offers a new perspective on Lombard rural villages, enhancing their identity, sustainability, and beauty with the direct involvement of residents and local realities.

BorghilentiFestival: the villages that tell their stories

In the rural heart of Basso Lodigiano, between the bends of the Adda and Po rivers, a festival is born that shifts the focus onto small centres: the BorghilentiFestival. The event, with its main base in Castelnuovo Bocca d'Adda, in the Province of Lodi, uses slowness and cultural regeneration as its guiding themes, telling the story of the landscape and communities of an area often on the margins of major tourist circuits.

Meleti joins the project

The 2026 edition marks an important innovation: thanks to the Borghilenti+ project, the Municipality of Meleti officially joins the festival, expanding the territory involved and the network of collaborations. For this small village in the Province of Lodi, it is an opportunity to connect with Castelnuovo Bocca d'Adda and participate in a shared cultural project.

A widespread program

The festival offers a rich and varied calendar, designed for experiencing the villages in a slow and conscious way:

  • excursions and guided tours in the rural landscape
  • performances and talks
  • concerts
  • workshops
  • exhibitions

All initiatives revolve around the themes of cultural regeneration, sustainability, and landscape.

People at the centre

The strength of BorghilentiFestival lies in the direct involvement of the community: the program is curated by the "Palestra BorghilentiFestival" (BorghilentiFestival Gym), composed of local residents, along with the artistic direction. The goal is to enhance and showcase the villages of Basso Lodigiano — Castelnuovo, Meleti, and their surroundings — along with the people and realities that live there every day, in a festival that is above all a community project.

BorghilentiFestival — edition 2026

The third edition of BorghilentiFestival takes place from May 29 to 31, 2026, with its main base in Castelnuovo Bocca d'Adda and, for the first time, the participation of Meleti through the Borghilenti+ project. Scheduled events include excursions, guided tours, performances, talks, concerts, workshops, and exhibitions.

The 2026 edition of BorghilentiFestival, the third, takes place from May 29 to 31, with its main base in Castelnuovo Bocca d'Adda. The major new feature is the official entry of the Municipality of Meleti into the project, through Borghilenti+, which expands the territory involved and the network of collaborations.

The festival offers a widespread program focused on cultural regeneration, sustainability, and landscape, with excursions, guided tours, performances, talks, concerts, workshops, and exhibitions, coordinated by the "Palestra BorghilentiFestival" alongside the artistic direction.
