Street performers from around the world in the village of Bondone, on Lake Idro
Bondone in Strada – International Street Artists Festival is an event that brings the magic of live performance to the streets of Bondone every summer. This small municipality in the province of Trento is nestled in the Giudicarie Valleys and overlooks Lake Idro. Recognized as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, Bondone provides a stunning backdrop: cobblestone alleys, glimpses of the lake, and the lakeside hamlet of Baitoni set the scene for two days of street art.
For two days, the village transforms into an open-air stage welcoming artists from all over the world. Acrobats, tightrope walkers, jugglers, clowns, and street theatre companies perform 'on the road', face-to-face with spectators throughout the village's streets, alleys, and squares. The roving format allows visitors to wander from one performance to the next in a festive atmosphere perfect for the whole family. Each edition concludes with a night-time show featuring drums and fire, one of the most anticipated and dramatic moments of the festival.
Founded to enliven the historic centre of Bondone, the festival has grown into a key summer event in Trentino, attracting thousands of spectators. Organized by the Madonna di Campiglio Tourism Board, the festival highlights the bond between live performance and local heritage, blending street art with the beauty of a village overlooking the water in the Trentino-Alto Adige region.
Alongside the performances, there is a culinary offering curated by local producers, featuring traditional Trentino dishes such as polenta carbonera and polenta e spiedo (polenta with spit-roasted meat), which accompany the evenings and complete the village's convivial atmosphere. Bondone in Strada is a wonderful opportunity to discover an authentic corner of Trentino, combining culture, nature, and mountain flavours.
The new edition of Bondone in Strada is confirmed for Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9, 2026 in the village of Bondone, in the province of Trento. For two days, the streets, alleys, and squares of the village will once again transform into an open-air stage for street artists from around the world, featuring acrobatics, tightrope walking, juggling, and clowning, with the highly anticipated final fire show.
At the moment, the detailed programme and the full list of artists are being defined: updates will be published on the official website of the Madonna di Campiglio Tourism Board. It is recommended to check times, line-up, and information regarding the shuttle service closer to the event.
Bondone can be reached by car via the SS237 del Caffaro road; the village is about 50 km south-west of Trento, on the border with Lombardy, on Lake Idro. The hamlet of Baitoni is located on the shores of the lake.
During the festival, a mandatory shuttle service usually operates from the Porto Camarelle car park to Baitoni, running from late afternoon until the end of the performances (in the 2025 edition, the cost was 3 euros per person, free for children up to 12 years old). It is recommended to check times and details on the official website.
