The event dedicated to hip hop culture and street dance in Castenaso
Bolo One Move is the event dedicated to hip hop culture and street dance that has been enlivening the Palazzetto dello Sport in Castenaso, in the province of Bologna, every spring for over fifteen years. Promoted by the organization Dance Plus with the patronage of the Municipality of Castenaso, the event has established itself as one of the most anticipated appointments on the street dance scene in Emilia-Romagna and on the national stage, attracting over fifty crews and more than five hundred dancers each year.
The format typically spans two days. The first day is dedicated to studying different styles through workshops led by renowned national and international dancers and choreographers, who also act as judges in the afternoon for choreography competitions and battles reserved for the Under 12 and Under 16 categories. The second day, held at the Castenaso sports hall, is entirely dedicated to 1v1 and 3v3 freestyle battles, divided by age group and dance style.
Bolo One Move presents itself as much more than just a competition: it is a meeting space where dance and music become a universal language, capable of bridging different generations, backgrounds, and cultures. In recent years, the event has focused on themes of inclusion and equality, introducing the Respect award to highlight female talent in street dance.
The choice of Castenaso, a municipality in the metropolitan city of Bologna, confirms the event's strong local roots, combining the vibrancy of the Bolognese urban scene with structured, high-level organization. For the many young talents in Emilia-Romagna, Bolo One Move represents an important showcase and an opportunity for growth and comparison with the best performers of Italian street dance.
The 2026 edition of Bolo One Move took place on May 2nd and 3rd at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Castenaso (BO), with the patronage of the Municipality. The first day featured workshops with national and international dancers and choreographers, followed in the afternoon by choreography contests and battles for Under 12 and Under 16. Sunday was dedicated to 1v1 Over 16 and 3v3 freestyle battles.
Among the new features, attention was paid to themes of inclusion and equality, with the Respect award to highlight female talent in street dance.
The Palazzetto dello Sport is located at Via dello Sport 2 in Castenaso (BO). By car, Castenaso is easily reachable from Bologna via Via San Vitale (SP3). By train, Castenaso station is on the Bologna-Portomaggiore line, a few minutes from the center of Bologna.
