The Davis Cup Finals in Bologna: eight nations compete for the silver salad bowl
From November 24 to 29, 2026, the city of Bologna, the capital of Emilia-Romagna, will host the Davis Cup Final 8 for the second consecutive year. This is the final stage of the world's most prestigious national team tennis tournament. After its debut in 2025, the Municipality of Bologna confirms its role as an international tennis capital, taking over from Malaga's long-standing position.
The Final 8 brings together eight national teams competing for the coveted silver salad bowl over six days of matches. Italy automatically qualifies as the host nation and defending champion, having won the Davis Cup for three consecutive years. The other seven spots are awarded to the winning teams from the second round of qualifying, scheduled for September 2026. The format includes quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final, each played as the best of three matches (two singles and one doubles).
All matches will be played on the indoor hard court of the SuperTennis Arena, located within the exhibition center of BolognaFiere, near Piazza della Costituzione. The venue, easily accessible from the city center and the motorway network, offers thousands of seats and the atmosphere of a major sporting event.
The schedule runs from the quarter-finals, starting Tuesday, November 24, through the semi-finals on Friday, November 27, and Saturday, November 28, culminating in the grand final on Sunday, November 29, 2026. Each day features afternoon and evening sessions, with the Bolognese crowd expected to cheer on the Italian team led by captain Filippo Volandri, fresh from their 2025 home victory.
Beyond the competitive spectacle, the Final 8 represents a significant international showcase for Bologna and the entire province of Bologna, with considerable benefits for tourism and hospitality in Emilia-Romagna. Fans from all over the world will flock to the city to experience firsthand the competition between the world's best national teams.
The Davis Cup returns to Bologna for the second consecutive edition, from November 24 to 29, 2026, at the SuperTennis Arena in BolognaFiere. Italy participates as the host nation and defending champion, while the other seven nations emerge from the qualifying rounds in September 2026. The official ticket office opened sales in February 2026 on the portal tickets.italy.daviscup.com.
Each tie is played as the best of three matches: two singles and one doubles. Times and the schedule are indicative and may be subject to change. The pairings of the nations will be determined after the draw, once the September 2026 qualifiers are completed.
The SuperTennis Arena is located within the BolognaFiere exhibition center, near Piazza della Costituzione. It is accessible by bus from the center of Bologna, by car from the Bologna Fiera and Bologna Arcoveggio motorway exits, and is about a 15-minute drive from Bologna Centrale train station.
