The widespread boat show in Civitavecchia, just a stone's throw from Rome
Boat Days is the widespread boat show of the Lazio coast, an event that transforms the Civitavecchia waterfront into a grand showcase for recreational boating and maritime culture. Organized by the Consorzio Mare Lazio in collaboration with the Port System Authority of the Central Northern Tyrrhenian Sea and the Municipality of Civitavecchia, the event is distinguished by its format spread over two consecutive weekends, allowing the public to experience the port at a leisurely pace and test boats directly in the water.
The exhibition route unfolds between two of the city's identity landmarks. The Michelangelo Area, at the foot of the historic Fort designed by Michelangelo and Bramante, hosts sports activities and maritime institutions: from the Italian Naval League to federations for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, surfing, wakeboarding, and water skiing, as well as the Coast Guard, Navy, Financial Police, and the Lazio Region. The Vanvitelli Area, next to the famous Vanvitelli Fountain, gathers the exhibition of boats, dinghies, marine engines, and accessories, with a space dedicated to sport fishing.
The heart of the event is light recreational boating: small craft and boats up to ten meters, dinghies, and outboard motors, with a wide range of services, water sports, and fishing equipment. Alongside the commercial showcase, Boat Days offers a rich calendar of demonstrations and awareness activities: sea rescue exercises by the Coast Guard, rescue dog units, prevention campaigns, and institutional meetings. There is also a focus on the future, with spaces provided by the Lazio Region dedicated to finance and the development of the Blue Economy.
As the main maritime hub of the Province of Rome and the gateway to the Capital, Civitavecchia offers Boat Days a unique setting, where the historical heritage of Forte Michelangelo dialogues with the vitality of one of the busiest ports in the Mediterranean. The event, moved to Civitavecchia after its first editions on the Lazio coast, confirms itself as a highly anticipated spring appointment for enthusiasts, families, and industry professionals, with free entry and a direct view of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
For the first time, Boat Days moves to the port of Civitavecchia, following previous editions on the Lazio coast. The fifth edition, organized by the Consorzio Mare Lazio with the Port System Authority of the Central Northern Tyrrhenian Sea and the Municipality of Civitavecchia, is spread over two weekends (March 20-22 and 27-29) and 11,000 square meters divided between the Michelangelo and Vanvitelli areas.
The event focuses on light recreational boating, with small craft and boats up to ten meters, dinghies, and outboard motors, accompanied by water sports, sport fishing, and boating services.
Civitavecchia is served by the Rome–Pisa railway line (Civitavecchia station), with frequent connections from Rome Termini and Rome Ostiense. By car, take the Civitavecchia exit from the A12 Rome–Civitavecchia motorway. The exhibition areas are located along the port waterfront, between Forte Michelangelo and Molo Vanvitelli, and are reachable on foot from the city center.
Free admission every day from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, during the two weekends of the event.
During the first weekend, it is possible to combine your visit with the FAI Spring Days, which feature the opening of Forte Michelangelo to the public.
