The craft beer festival of Casamassima
In the heart of the Apulian summer, BirrArt transforms Casamassima, a town in the Metropolitan City of Bari, into a grand village dedicated to craft beer, street food, and live music. Born as an initiative by Artcafè, the event has grown year after year to become one of the most anticipated summer appointments in the territory south of the regional capital.
The heart of the festival is the selected beer lines: numerous tap stations offer craft labels from local and national breweries, ranging from bold IPAs to well-balanced lagers, with styles to suit every palate. A tasting journey designed for both connoisseurs and those approaching the world of craft beer for the first time.
Accompanying the pints is the very best of Apulian street food: bombette, meat sandwiches, porchetta, panzerotti, pizzas, french fries, fresh mozzarella prepared on-site by a local cheesemaker, and the famous 'caciocavallo impiccato' (hanging caciocavallo cheese), not to mention sweet crepes to round off the evening. A triumph of typical flavors that makes BirrArt an open-air gastronomic feast.
Each evening is marked by live music: cover bands, tribute acts, and DJ sets take turns on stage, playing rock, Italian pop, and danceable beats until late at night. The atmosphere is that of a typical summer town square festival—informal and engaging, perfect for families, young people, and groups of friends.
Admission is completely free for all evenings. BirrArt is designed as a popular and inclusive festival, an opportunity to gather outdoors and enjoy summer nights together. The event is held in the town's market square, a large space capable of hosting stands, a stage, and dining areas.
Known as the "blue town" for the facades of its historic center once painted in blue, Casamassima is located just a few kilometers from Bari, in an area rich in gastronomic traditions and summer events. BirrArt is a staple in the provincial calendar of festivals and fairs, celebrating conviviality and the products of the Apulian territory.
From July 3 to 5, 2026, Casamassima hosts the fifth edition of BirrArt, the craft beer festival organized by Artcafè. For this edition, the event moves to Piazzale Hrand Nazariantz, the town's market area, with a large space dedicated to tap stands, street food, and the live music stage.
As per tradition, the protagonists are selected craft beers, accompanied by Apulian gastronomic specialties. Each evening, the program features concerts and cover bands that bring the square to life until late at night. Admission is completely free for all three evenings.
The detailed musical program for the 2026 edition will be announced on the event's official channels in the days leading up to the festival. As in past editions, the three evenings will be animated by live concerts and cover bands, accompanied by craft beer lines and Apulian street food stands.
Hours: evenings generally start around 8:30 PM and continue until late at night. Free admission.
