About Bigoli Festival

In Carbonara di Rovolon, in the Euganean Hills near Padua, there is a village that proudly calls itself the "village of bigoli": every spring, the Bigoli Festival celebrates this quintessential Venetian specialty, pasta made by hand with the 'bigolaro' (a traditional pasta press). For three weeks, the food stand offers bigoli in all its variations—with tomato sauce, with ragù, with duck—along with grilled meats, seasonal side dishes, and wines from the Euganean Hills. An authentic and deeply rooted festival with over thirty years of history.

The village of bigoli

The Bigoli Festival takes place in Carbonara di Rovolon, a hamlet of Rovolon, in the Euganean Hills near Padua. Carbonara is known as the "village of bigoli," and this festival is its most heartfelt celebration, dedicated to a signature dish of Venetian cuisine.

Bigoli, traditional pasta

Bigoli are long, handmade pasta strands made with soft wheat flour, water, and salt, extruded through the bigolaro, the traditional press that gives the pasta its characteristic roughness. At the food stand, they are served in all their variations: from the classic with tomato sauce to the heartier ragù, to the famous bigoli with duck. Alongside the pasta, there are grilled meats, fresh seasonal side dishes, and a wide selection of wines from the Euganean Hills.

A three-week festival

The festival runs for about three weeks in May, with the food stand open on weekend evenings and for lunch on Sundays. With over thirty years of history, it is one of the most authentic local festivals, successfully combining delicious food with the convivial spirit of Venetian village festivals.

In the Euganean Hills

Set amidst the vineyards and villages of the Euganean Hills, the Bigoli Festival is also an opportunity to discover a charming corner of the Paduan region, with its rustic cuisine, local wines, and hilly landscape.
