The Bigolada Shrove Tuesday Festival is one of the most cherished carnival celebrations in the lower Valsugana valley. It takes place in Piazza Municipio in Strigno, the main village of the Castel Ivano municipality in the Province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). On Shrove Tuesday, which marks the end of the carnival season on the eve of Lent, the village square becomes the stage for a popular celebration that draws residents and visitors from across the valley.

Starting at 12:00 PM, the center of Strigno comes alive with music, costumes, and carnival floats. The traditional parade of masks and allegorical floats fills the streets and the square with shared joy. Traditional flavors

The name of the festival itself refers to bigoli, the long pasta typical of Venetian and Trentino cuisine that gives rise to the "bigolada." Throughout the day, the food stalls offer hot dishes and local traditional specialties, accompanied by typical Trentino carnival sweets like grostoli and fritters. It is the perfect opportunity to taste the genuine flavors of Valsugana in a festive setting.
