About Bienno Market Exhibition

For nine days at the end of August, the medieval village of Bienno, one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, transforms into a large open-air workshop. Over 140 exhibitors populate the stone alleys, ancient forges, and courtyards where iron, wood, ceramics, and textiles are worked, while workshops and thematic paths tell the story of the art of making. With almost 200,000 visitors, the Bienno Market Exhibition is one of the most important craft events in Lombardy and the Province of Brescia.

The village of hammers and forges

The Bienno Market Exhibition is the major summer event that annually transforms one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy into a stage dedicated to craftsmanship and know-how. Bienno, nestled in Valle Camonica in the Province of Brescia, is a town with a very long metallurgical tradition: for centuries, its forges, powered by the water of the Vaso Re, have worked iron, and even today the historic trip hammers are an integral part of the village's identity.

Over 140 exhibitors in the alleys

During the nine days of the event, the cobbled streets, courtyards, and ancient buildings of the historic center host over 140 selected exhibitors. They range from artistic crafts to typical local products, from wood and metalworking to ceramics and textiles, in a journey that celebrates Lombardy's "know-how". The event attracts almost 200,000 visitors, figures that place it among the most attended craft events in the region.

Not just a market

The Market Exhibition is not a simple fair: the village comes alive with thematic paths, workshops for families and children, live demonstrations of crafts, and an interactive map that guides visitors through the different areas. Strolling through Bienno during the exhibition means discovering both an intact medieval architectural heritage and a still-vibrant artisan tradition.
