Two weekends of taste in the heart of Fossombrone, between Bianchetto truffle and Bianchello DOC wine
The Bianchetto Truffle and Bianchello DOC Wine Festival is one of the most beloved food and wine events in the Marche region and the only one in Italy entirely dedicated to the spring white truffle (Tuber borchii or albidum), a spring delicacy with an intense and delicate aroma. Founded in 1984 by the local truffle hunters' association, the festival is organized by Pro Loco Forum Sempronii together with the Municipality of Fossombrone, in the province of Pesaro and Urbino.
For two weekends in March, the beating heart of the celebration is Corso Garibaldi and the squares of the historic center of Fossombrone, the ancient Roman Forum Sempronii nestled along the Metauro river. The streets come alive with stalls, scents, and colors, transforming the village into a true capital of taste.
The festival combines haute cuisine, popular tradition, culture, music, and outdoor activities. The Market Exhibition hosts local producers, artisanal and commercial specialties: here you can buy fresh and preserved truffles, cured meats and cheeses, typical sweets, fine wines, and zero-kilometer products.
Among the most anticipated moments is the format «The Bianchetto meets great cuisine», conceived and presented by chef Lucio Pompili, with cooking shows that bring prestigious chefs to the Fossombrone stage. At the Piazzetta del Gusto, the Pro Loco Forum Sempronii stand offers a rich truffle-based menu: white lasagna, tagliatelle, polenta and polentina with truffle, omelets, crostini, and other local specialties.
The festival is also an excellent opportunity to visit Fossombrone and its hinterland: the historic center, the Corte Alta, the hills of Fossombrone, and the Metauro valley. The event often coincides with the FAI Spring Days, making the weekend even richer in cultural offerings.
The 42nd edition of the Bianchetto Truffle and Bianchello DOC Wine Festival took place on the weekends of March 14-15 and 21-22, 2026, with Corso Garibaldi and the squares of Fossombrone's center transformed into the capital of taste. The program combined haute cuisine, tradition, culture, music, and outdoor activities.
The Market Exhibition hosted food stalls, local producers, and artisanal specialties, with the opportunity to purchase fresh truffles, processed products, wines, and local produce. The second weekend coincided with the FAI Spring Days (March 21-22).
Format conceived and presented by chef Lucio Pompili, with cooking shows by prestigious chefs dedicated to the Bianchetto truffle.
Participating restaurants in Fossombrone offered special truffle-based menus at a fixed price of 45 euros.
