Hops, beer, and agricultural traditions at the Belfort archaeological area
The BeerFort Festival is a gastronomic and cultural event held in Piuro, a municipality in Valchiavenna in the province of Sondrio, at the Belfort archaeological area. The event is dedicated to the cultivation of hops and the agricultural traditions of the area.
The setting is the Belfort archaeological area, a site that holds the memory of Piuro's past. Here, the festival intertwines the valorisation of historical heritage with the discovery of local products, particularly beer and hop-related crops.
BeerFort is one of the events in the "Piuro 2026" programme, supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Lombardy Region, and the Municipality of Piuro. The project, winner of a regional call for experiential itineraries and events, aims to combine history, art, music, and agricultural traditions to promote Valchiavenna and its village most closely linked to the memory of the 1618 landslide.
BeerFort 2026 enlivens the Belfort archaeological area in Piuro from July 24th to 26th. The festival celebrates hop cultivation and local agricultural traditions, combining gastronomy, beer, and discovery of the site's historical heritage. The event is part of the "Piuro 2026" programme, supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Lombardy Region, and the Municipality of Piuro.
The detailed programme will be published as part of the "Piuro 2026" schedule.
