Beer Catania is the festival dedicated to craft beers and local excellence that takes place every year in Catania, in the heart of eastern Sicily. The event is held in the gardens of Villa Pacini, a historic park overlooking the port area and just a few steps from Piazza Duomo, a striking urban setting that turns the festival into a great meeting place for social life in the city center.
Craft beers and independent breweries
The heart of the festival is the Italian craft breweries, with their stands and over one hundred taps available to the public. Alongside Sicilian producers, breweries from numerous Italian regions participate, confirming Beer Catania's role as a meeting point for breweries, industry professionals, and enthusiasts. The selection ranges from pale ales to red and white beers, with and without malt, explored through tastings and themed brewing sessions.
Street food, local delicacies, and music
The culinary offering pairs beer with a selection of high-quality street food and the 'Isola delle Eccellenze' (Island of Excellence), a space dedicated to typical Sicilian products. There is no shortage of guided pairings, such as the path that brings together craft beers and selected cheeses. The atmosphere is completed by live music, DJ sets, relaxation areas, and moments of insight into beer and gastronomic culture, in a convivial setting that attracts families, young people, and curious visitors.

More than just a beer fair, Beer Catania is an opportunity to experience the urban space as a hub for gathering, where people, urban cultures, music, and art meet. Organized with the patronage of the Municipality of Catania, the event contributes to enhancing the historic center and promoting the culture of craft beer in Sicily.
When it takes place
Beer Catania is traditionally held in the second half of May, spanning four days from Thursday to Sunday, with evening opening on the first day and continuous hours over the weekend.
Beer Catania — edition 2026
Beer Catania 2026 was held from Thursday, May 21 to Sunday, May 24 in the gardens of Villa Pacini, in Catania. Opening hours: Thursday from 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM; Friday and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM; Sunday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 AM.
Among the announced breweries: Rock Brewery, Akudunniad, Birrificio del Vulture, Birrificio Epica, BAC, Birreria Riposto, Cantaloop, Birrificio dell'Etna, Tarì, Li Patarnosci, Skapte, Brewfist, Antikorpo Brewing, WAR, Porta Bruciata, Onei, Terre a Sud Est, Compagnia del Fermento, Tsunami, Bruno Ribadi, and Kashmir Brewery.
Highlights included the 'Beer & Cheese' Craft Pairing Experience on Thursday, a guided tasting journey between craft beers and selected cheeses, as well as street food, the 'Isola delle Eccellenze' with typical Sicilian products, and live music.

How to get there
Villa Pacini is located on Via Cardinale Dusmet, in the historic center of Catania, just a few steps from Piazza Duomo and the port area. By train, the Catania Centrale station is a short walk away; by plane, the Catania-Fontanarossa airport is a few kilometers away, connected to the center by public transport. By car, it can be reached from the A18/A19 motorway, but parking in the center is limited: using public transport is recommended.
Admission and tastings
Access to the festival area is generally free. For tastings, a token system is used: the BeerCatania Card (approx. 20 euros) includes beer tokens and the official festival glass. At the 'Isola delle Eccellenze', it is possible to sample typical Sicilian products.
