Sicilian street food in the heart of Santa Lucia del Mela
Beddi Sapuri – Street Food Tour is a celebration of Sicilian street food that brings Piazza Milite Ignoto in Santa Lucia del Mela—a charming village in the province of Messina overlooking the Peloritani mountains—to life. Organized by MA.PRO Eventi & Servizi with the support of the Sicilian Region and the Municipality of Santa Lucia del Mela, the event blends authentic flavors, local culture, and fun under the motto: "Where every bite tells the story of Sicily."
For three days, the streets and the main square of the town turn into a culinary trail. Food stalls offer the best of the island's street food: pane cunzato, schiacciate, fritters, waffles, and fried pizza, alongside traditional Sicilian farm-to-table products. Admission is free, and the festivities begin each evening, with the first shows starting at 7:00 PM and musical performances around 8:30 PM.
Designed to engage locals, families, tourists, and industry professionals, Beddi Sapuri combines gastronomy with a rich entertainment schedule: activities for children, street performances, dancing, and concerts that continue late into the night. The event aims to showcase Sicilian food and wine excellence while promoting the territory of Santa Lucia del Mela and Sicily as a whole, turning food and popular culture into a festive gathering.
The first edition of Beddi Sapuri – Street Food Tour in Santa Lucia del Mela was held from June 12 to 14, 2026, in Piazza Milite Ignoto, turning the center of the village into a culinary village. Food stalls offered Sicilian street food specialties—pane cunzato, schiacciate, fritters, waffles, and fried pizza—alongside traditional farm-to-table products.
Each evening featured a unique program: Friday included children's entertainment, a fire show, the band Apnea, and a Caribbean DJ set; Saturday featured LED light games, a folk parade, and a concert by Rainbow; Sunday showcased "The Huntrix Show," dance performances, and a final concert by the band XXL. The event, organized by MA.PRO Eventi & Servizi with the support of the Sicilian Region, concluded with a massive turnout.
Santa Lucia del Mela is accessible via the A20 Messina-Palermo motorway; take the Milazzo exit and continue inland for approximately 10 km. The nearest train station is Milazzo, located on the Messina-Palermo line.
Admission is free for all three evenings. Activities begin in the evening with food stalls and shows; live concerts start around 8:30 PM in Piazza Milite Ignoto.
We recommend arriving early to secure parking in the town center and to avoid queues at the food stalls during peak evening hours.
