The Oktoberfest of the Bolognese Apennines with Paulaner beer, Bavarian cuisine and live music
Every summer, in the heart of the town of Lizzano in Belvedere, in the Province of Bologna, BavieraFest takes place: four days dedicated to beer, Bavarian cuisine, and live music. The event, hosted in the central Piazza Marconi, is now a classic of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine summer and attracts many curious people and beer festival enthusiasts every year, following the example of the famous Oktoberfest in Munich.
The gourmet heart of BavieraFest are the food stands with specialties of Bavarian tradition โ wรผrstel, pork knuckle, sauerkraut, pretzels, and much more โ accompanied by Paulaner beer taps, one of Munich's most renowned brands. The kitchens remain open on Thursday and Friday evenings, while on Saturdays and Sundays they also serve lunch, allowing you to enjoy the festival at any time of day.
Alongside good food and beer, BavieraFest strongly emphasizes music: every evening in Piazza Marconi is enlivened by concerts, tribute bands dedicated to great Italian music artists, revival nights, and DJ sets that keep you dancing until late at night. It's an opportunity to gather outdoors, in an informal and festive atmosphere that blends the German spirit of a beer festival with the warmth of a mountain village tradition.
The setting is Lizzano in Belvedere, a village in the upper Bolognese Apennines at the foot of the Corno alle Scale massif, in Emilia-Romagna. The event, organized with the support of the Pro Loco and local entities, is also a way to discover this cool and welcoming mountain corner in the middle of summer, with excursions, nature, and Apennine hospitality.
The 2026 edition of BavieraFest is scheduled in Lizzano in Belvedere (BO) from Thursday, July 9th to Sunday, July 12th, 2026, as reported by the official portal of the Bolognese Apennines (Metropolitan City of Bologna). As tradition dictates, Piazza Marconi will host food stands with typical Bavarian cuisine and Paulaner beer taps, accompanied each evening by concerts and live music.
The complete music program, with band names and evening schedules, will be announced by the organizers in the weeks preceding the event. For updates, it's advisable to follow the official Facebook page of the festival.
The dates for the 2026 edition (July 9-12) are confirmed by the official calendar of the Bolognese Apennines. The detailed concert program and evening schedules have not yet been published: they will be announced by the organizers in the weeks before the festival.
Based on past editions, the usual structure includes the opening of kitchens and beer taps in the evening (Thursday and Friday) and also at lunchtime on weekends, with tribute bands, revival nights, and DJ sets in Piazza Marconi until late at night.
