A widespread photography festival in the village

In June 2026, Bassano in Teverina Photography makes its debut, a festival entirely dedicated to photography that transforms the entire historic center of Bassano in Teverina—a small town in the province of Viterbo, in the heart of the Tuscia Viterbese region of Lazio—for two weekends. The concept is that of a widespread route: the exhibitions are not gathered in a single space but are scattered throughout the most evocative corners and views of the medieval village, making the visit a stroll of discovery through the town.

Seven exhibitions in the village's corners

The heart of the first edition consists of seven solo exhibitions, ranging from social reportage to nature photography, from creative research to historical reconstruction:

Workshops, portfolio reviews, and meetings

Alongside the exhibitions, the program offers a busy calendar of activities for enthusiasts and the curious: a workshop led by Max Angeloni on environmental portraiture, portfolio review sessions curated by Michele Buonanni, Donato Chirulli, and Domenico Cammarano, and a series of meetings with the authors, providing opportunities to engage directly with the photographers and delve into the meaning of their projects.

FIAF Recognition

The event is launched with the recognition of the FIAF (Italian Federation of Photographic Associations), the main national reference point for photography-dedicated associations. This start immediately places the festival within a framework of quality and links it to the network of Italian photographic events.

What makes the event special is the setting: Bassano in Teverina is a village overlooking the Tiber Valley, with its compact historic center, alleys, churches, and viewpoints that become an integral part of the exhibition layout. Admission is free, offering a cultural experience open to everyone, designed to enhance both auteur photography and the town's heritage, promoted by the Il Vivaio delle Immagini Cultural Association.
