Three nights of beer, music, and conviviality at Largo Castello, beneath the walls of the Cavaniglia Castle.
The Bagnoli Beer Fest is the summer event dedicated to beer, held in Largo Castello, in the historic center of Bagnoli Irpino (Province of Avellino, Campania). In 2026, the event spans three consecutive nights, from Friday, July 31, to Sunday, August 2. It is organized by the Municipality in collaboration with the Pro Loco Bagnoli Irpino-Laceno, the same association that manages the town's historic autumn black truffle festival.
Largo Castello is one of the town's most recognizable landmarks, opening up beneath the walls of the Cavaniglia Castle. This Norman-era fortification, built between the 11th and 12th centuries, remains a defining feature of the village skyline. In summer, it naturally becomes the stage for evening events, combining ample space with proximity to the ancient alleys of the historic center and the Giudecca district, the oldest part of the town dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries.
The Beer Fest is not a standalone event; it is part of the Bagnoli-Laceno Summer Events 2026 program. This calendar, curated by the local administration, associations, and businesses, enlivens the town and the Laceno plateau from mid-July through autumn with concerts, theater, food festivals, children's activities, and sporting competitions. The three beer-filled nights are surrounded by some of the most popular summer events in Bagnoli:
At the moment, organizers have only released the essential details—dates, location, and the collaboration with the Pro Loco—while specific schedules, live music lineups, and stand information are typically announced closer to the event via the Municipality and Pro Loco social media channels. Like most beer festivals in the Campanian hinterland, the vibe is that of a traditional town square party: open taps, street food, long communal tables, and a stage providing entertainment until late at night. This format works perfectly in Bagnoli, attracting both locals and the many summer vacationers visiting the Laceno area.
The Municipality of Bagnoli Irpino has just under 3,000 residents and sits at an altitude of 654 meters within the Monti Picentini Regional Park. It is a town of two faces: on one side, the 18th-century historic center with its narrow, sloping streets and noble palaces; on the other, the Laceno plateau, with its lake, pastures, and ski lifts that make it one of the few ski resorts in Campania during winter. The area's gastronomic fame is primarily linked to the black truffle and pecorino cheese, celebrated in October at the «Il Nero di Bagnoli» festival. In recent years, the town has also seen the rise of an artisanal brewing project, 83zero43, which takes its name from the Bagnoli Irpino postal code.
The nights at the end of July and beginning of August are among the busiest of the year. Visitors arriving from out of town should account for some traffic on the roads leading up to Laceno and plan to park in areas near the center before walking to Largo Castello. At Bagnoli's altitude, summer evenings remain cool—much more so than on the coast—so a light sweater is almost always a good idea. Those looking to turn the festival into a weekend getaway can combine their visit with a trip to Lake Laceno, the Caliendo caves, and the hiking trails of the Picentini mountains.
The dates for the 2026 edition have been confirmed by the Municipality of Bagnoli Irpino as part of the Bagnoli-Laceno Summer Events 2026 program: from July 31 to August 2, the beer festival returns to Largo Castello, the square beneath the walls of the Cavaniglia Castle, in collaboration with the Pro Loco Bagnoli Irpino-Laceno.
The Beer Fest takes place at the turn of July and August, the most intense moment of the season. In the following days, the municipal program continues with local food festivals, a Pink Floyd tribute by Wallside on August 9, and a concert by Enzo Gragnaniello for the San Lorenzo Festival on August 10 in Piazza Leonardo Di Capua, before moving toward Lake Laceno for the Country Festival starting August 19.
Details regarding the three nights—live music, stands, and schedules—have not yet been released at the time of publication. Updates will be announced by the organizers on the official Municipality and Pro Loco channels in the days leading up to the event.
Largo Castello, in the historic center of Bagnoli Irpino (ZIP 83043), Province of Avellino, Campania. The square is located at the foot of the Cavaniglia Castle, just a short walk from the town's main streets.
2026 Edition: from Friday, July 31, to Sunday, August 2. Opening hours for the stands have not been announced; for evening festivals in Bagnoli, entertainment typically peaks after sunset.
No entry fees have been announced. As with other events in the municipal program, access to the area is free, with beer and food available for purchase at the stands. The consumption of alcoholic beverages is restricted to adults.
By car, the reference motorway exits are Avellino Est on the A16 Naples-Canosa, then continuing along the SS 7 Ofantina towards Laceno, or Contursi Terme on the A2 del Mediterraneo for those arriving from the south. By public transport, the most convenient train stations are Avellino and Salerno, which are connected to Bagnoli by regional bus lines. The nearest airport is Naples-Capodichino.
Accommodation is divided between the town center and the Laceno plateau, where hotels, residences, and farmhouses (agriturismi) are concentrated. It is advisable to book in advance for August weekends.
The detailed program will be published closer to the event dates on the official channels of the Municipality of Bagnoli Irpino and the Pro Loco Bagnoli Irpino-Laceno.
