Ten days of beer, music, and themed dinners in the heart of Valsesia
The Babbiu Beer Fest is one of the most anticipated events of the Valsesian spring. It takes place in Quarona, a small town in the Province of Vercelli, Piedmont, and is organized with passion by the Pro Loco of Quarona. For ten days, the Salone Sterna, on Via G. Lanzio, becomes the center of the town's social life: a large, covered, and heated area of approximately 300 square meters, ready to welcome the public in any weather condition.
The heart of the festival is, naturally, the beer, served on tap alongside cocktails and food and wine specialties. Every evening offers a different menu, with themed dinners ranging from Argentine asado to paella, pizza to porchetta, and even mixed fried seafood: dishes that blend local tradition with international flavors, always by reservation.
The dinners are accompanied by a rich program of live music with free admission: cover bands, tribute acts, 90s and 2000s revival nights, DJ sets, and karaoke turn every evening into a party for all ages. The festival traditionally opens with the blessing of the tent and the tapping of the first keg in the presence of the Mayor, in a ritual that unites community and conviviality.
More than just a simple beer festival, the Babbiu Beer Fest is a community experience: dozens of Pro Loco volunteers work behind the scenes, and the event also dedicates space to inclusion, with days planned in collaboration with local social organizations. It is the perfect opportunity to discover Valsesian hospitality, spend an evening in good company, and experience the authentic atmosphere of a mountain town that knows how to celebrate.
Quarona is located just a few kilometers from Varallo and the gates of Monte Rosa: a visit to the festival can easily be combined with a weekend exploring the villages and trails of Valsesia.
The 15th edition of the Babbiu Beer Fest, titled "Never Never Land", took place in Quarona from May 15 to 24, 2026, at the Salone Sterna. The official opening, on Friday, May 15 at 7:30 PM, featured the blessing of the tent by Father Michele and the tapping of the first keg with Mayor Francesco Pietrasanta.
Between themed dinners, draft beer, and free-admission musical evenings, the event confirmed itself as one of the main appointments for young people, families, and visitors to Valsesia. The festival, managed by over 50 volunteers coordinated by Andrea Giambone, closed with a very positive outcome and a beneficial impact on local businesses.
During the festival, a day was also dedicated to inclusion ("Cuore Valsesiano") in collaboration with the Cascina Spazzacamini and Archimede organizations.
